This player I-nub is an old friend. He will make a new account every 5-10 games, and always plays techies. If you repick techies, he will play rhasta or pugna, two of which are 1000% easier to deal with then his techies. He likes to play techies and go solo mid and transition into a hardcore push/battle techies build. He usually starts with soul ring, medallion, bottle, blink, aghas. If u happen to pick all squishy lineup, he will go medallion blink dagon 5, debuff u with medallion and then blink dagon suicide in half a second, to bring down about 1500-2000 hp. Since suicide and land mines are half physical half magical, medallion boosts the damage. He likes to make assault cuirass, medallion, desolator and book 3 to go heavy push strat, as well as having 40 armor on an already ridiculously high base armor techies. If the game becomes ultra-late, it is extremely difficult to end the game vs him. I have played 100s of games with him, and have a tough time if I dont pick a hard carry, or late-game scaling mid laner to deal with him, such as arc warden, invoker, morphling, or medusa.

Pick arc warden and go solo mid. If he goes techies mid, u will have 100% free farm, and lane will always be pushed to your tower (scourge or sentinel) because his land mine hides the entire wave, pushing it forward. Rush midas and book 3 before boots. He will never mine multiple lanes or the woods, he only farms one lane at a time, and makes a defensive line out of it. I placed a obs ward about halfway through our bottom lane to see him, and where we could easily gank when he pushed lane. Arc warden book is the fastest farmer one he has book 3 and midas. Take advantage of that, and push hard with team one u have the core items. Techies is pretty fucking useless when he cannot have the element of surprise. Have fun folks! xD

lol this techies isn't noob. I think I played with him before a few times and he was wrecking w/ solo mid.

I never said that this techies is noob. I said that you must be a noob to get owned by such builds.

What is your main again Pharaoh? If you've never played against it, you would probably lose if you didn't know where he mines and how he plays. Classic cop-out to say techies carry is noob, when you have never even seen it done properly.

It's not a bad build. It just SOUNDS bad in theory. In reality these pro techs win many games.

Yea such techie can be annoying, like any other heroes that are played by a good player. Can you have fun with this build vs pubs? Yes. Can you max the win ratio? No. Hope it doesn’t kill too many of your braincells to get it.

You realize this player has 80% or greater win/loss ratio with this strategy? He used to joke with me saying years ago (yes, he plays only techies for years), he and his friends would purposely let the enemy team get mega creeps on him, while he would defend against it and win in the ultra late game. If he makes a new account and only plays a few games, it's hard to know if it's a good techies or some retard like the rest of the 99% that picks it, just to drag games out. And most people dont get 5 counters to just techies, so you better have a solid hero to counter him that you're comfortable playing for 60+ mins.

Well the ability to drag em games to 60min+ is exactly why techie is a cancer hero. All range heroes with gen can “counter” techie in ultra late games. Good luck with 4v5 lul

There is no such thing as communication, teamwork or cooperation in 99% of public games. Techies players such as the one mentioned thrive on this lack of coordination, to kill gem wielding heroes, and capitalize on major mistakes. It's never really 4v5, when one lane is always pushed, and objectives are being threatened. You think in a tunnel; Not seeing the potential that a good techies can have, just because "DER GEM COUNTERS TECHIES DER, HERO FOR RETARDS DER". Get real.

+ for those talking how good you are vs techies, the same ideal from meepo is presented: If you beat techies that easily, that techies is bad - you're not playing vs someone who knows what he's doing, that's for sure (Altho techies is not as strong as meepo, he can turn the games around quite easily)

Coming from the guy who can't play techies .. makes sense - When you learn how to properly play techies, you'll see that wards/gem/necro book won't stop you from doing your job, one way or another - trust me: Even if you can't force them into mines, you will be able to split them apart (allowing your team to capitalize and kill the major targets), or worse, make them fall into traps, and do mistakes that will ruin their push.

Exactly my point. A good techies, is cancer. There's a reason why people cry when a techies is picked, because the only person having fun in that game, is the techies player. Techies thrives on poorly coordinated teams, with many people, who do not like to spend gold on sentry. Gem is good, if the enemy lacks map control and multiple gank heroes and can deathball lanes together with sustainable heroes (dirge, necrolyte, omniknight, chen, juggernaut ward, mekansm, drow lineups, luna/shadow demon duo, etc.). All it takes is one misplay, to set a team back 10 mins (time for gem to re-spawn) for another effective push timing.

I do believe arc warden with book 3, midas and a wave clear/dps item, such as mjollnir, ac, mom, or mkb, is usually enough to get a solid team push around the 30 min mark. This is because arc warden is almost always the most farmed hero in any game due to having the ability to midas every 70, 60, 50 seconds on the clone, as well as being able to midas on the main hero every 100 seconds and push waves with ease. Arc warden thrives by being 1-2 core items ahead of everyone else in the game, and being an extreme glass cannon. Around 30 mins, a techies usually has nothing more than a bloodstone, aghas, blink, euls or force staff, and usually (i say usually, not always) prefers to mine lanes and/or allied or enemy woods, rather then their tier 3 towers/barracks. If you can get the opportunity to rax one lane quickly, the game only gets easier from there. I actually like playing vs techies as meepo because he can end the game before techies has an impact.
