how do you crossbuild in lategame? after 3 rows of fighters are full do you build a 4th/5th or do you build in center so they add on second wave or do you build where the incer builds his delay? should the incer build in front of the valuers units or somewehre else?
i come across nasty splits in late probably due to too many rows of fighters and looking for a way to prevent this.

Easy, Don't cross.
What you need to do is increase the delay on the weak side. Or you start building your towers on the weak side. It really depends on your income, towers, etc

Re: ltd cross in lategame
you build on the other side a lot, and keep expanding far. I definitely go at least 4-5 rows.

seems like no one knows or feels like sharing :/
It's not the delay because even with exceptional delay on weak side (2 tree of travel + 2 magnataur) they still split. Also expanding far with 4-5 rows will make you split 100% when u hit high value like 20+k
im thinking maybe 3 rows then in center so they add only on weakside battle and incer extends value side by building in front. But that way you waste a lot of firepower on the first wave and might struggle on a very heavy send in 27/28 and i dont know if u still split if incer extends 2-3 rows in front

Re: ltd cross in lategame
This is a downside to cross - as a big hater of cross I can only suggest you try and solo build as this is way easier to deal with
Only solution that comes to mid is try to only build expensive towers instead of massing upgraded archers (215 value) instead of say upped dragonhawks (680 value) - that way you'll have less rows to deal with and less chance of split
Also doing ranged units in front could be an idea (that way they wont charge the incoming wave but stand still and just attack)
Hope it helped
ps. consider solo building for the love of LTD!

I am not saying build other side to delay. with 18k gold on one side, it will clear no problem. if other side is still fighting, forces combine and wreck it. if not, damage was done and weaker wave.

Re: ltd cross in lategame
Let's add another dimension to this question:
How would you suggest (if being the valuer) to kill the first wave of level 31 on the incommer's side, proceeding to the first wave on the valuer's side of the lane all before the second wave of level 31 starts?
I have had it happen to me multiple times just in the past few days that everything goes great until level 31 and my towers just cannot kill the first wave of level 31 on my own side of the lane before a second wave spawns..
This in combination with the rather huge delays we are currently facing in Ent's LTD-hostbot-service, which makes it impossible to AS the incommer's towers to help clear the valuer's side of the lane in time.
Sincerely,
Skizzy

that is the weakness of xbuilding - level 31. the incomer should build on the side of the valuer, thus crossbuilding.

I know that this is a certain weakness of X-ing it.
Just wondering how other people would overcome this weakness..
I, for one, would suggest the incommer to build on his own side and the valuer to start building on his/her own side after 20.

If you're crossing you should win before 31, that's what the strats for to income hard and end it earlier at some point.
If you aren't winning and its going end game/31+ then you shouldn't have crossed its not longer your advantage. Consider playing normal if you think your team can't win earlier.

Yes I agree with the hindsight of "you shouldn't have crossed then".. but non-crossing might not have lasted your team until 31..
Re: ltd cross in lategame
That's true, you have to make that choice wisely though. If you're crossing with a noob that wont income well and you don't have great units, don't do it, etc. Something to think about

Re: ltd cross in lategame
When you are not sure of the skill of your lane-partner, or the "epic stuffzz omfg crooss mee you m33b" units they rolled, there is only 1 viable option:
DO NOT CROSS-BUILD.
You will probably lose before round 21, waste a good 30-45minutes of your life and of course create a dent in your otherwise good-natured mood for the day..
My personal solution to this is as follows:
I have a simple set of rules about whether or not I will cross-build with people:
- I know you and I trust you with valuing.
- I trust both your internet stability, as well as your mental stability.
- You use clear and direct communication; this shall be English at all times.
- You go income and I overbuild like crazy just so I can handle things after you rage-quit/drop.
Context as to why I have the aforementioned set of rules:
In the past weeks I have lost too many games (sadly those games where you would only get like 8elo for winning, thus losing around 22elo each) due to rage-quitting and/or dropping players who had a "epic stuffz lemme build or you so n000000b" set of towers.
When the above requirements are met, level 31 is usually just a matter of which team had more income to get more value to survive longer. This could easily even go to the extend where you never had any seriously good rolls at all, but struggled the whole 50-60minutes.
These games are, no matter if you win or lose, usually the most fun to play anyway.
