Looking for help

Postby JaySquared » Thu Jun 12, 2014 8:32 pm

Hey guys,
My name is Jonas and I am new to this forum, and amazed that there is still a Legion TD community like this.
About 4 or 5 days ago I rediscovered LGTD and I got addicted really quickly again. I played about one or two years ago as well, back when 1.6b was still around and Mega was just getting started, but it was only an occasional game. Suddenly I find myself playing 20-30 games a day (don't judge) andI just can't get enough of it.
Than I heard about LIHL, which sounds really awesome since many public games get ruined by a single person or everyone in your team is following a different strategy (if any). So after watching a couple of your games I would really like to join but feel like I am far away from the level I need to be, in order to join. So I thought I'd ask if anyone from LIHL would be willing to help me out and teach me about some more advanced strategies and/or about the high-level game itself and just work with me on improving my game, kind of like a teacher. Depending on the intensity of the guidance I would be ready to pay a couple of bucks in order to make up for the work. I believe my current W/L ratio is about 60/35 with an Elo of ~1300 (playing as shadow-walker). Unfortunatly I do not have any records of my games.
I would be more than glad if anyone would agree helping me out to get into the LIHL, thanks a lot :)

PS: I'm 19 years old and from Germany :)

Hey hey :)
I totally agree with you, I started playing WC3 again a bit more than one year ago, just wanted to play a few custom maps and bang ... like the third map I played was LTD (didn't know it until then) and it totally hooked me up :P
Tho a reason was also that I have a pretty unstable internet connection else I would probably still be playing Heroes of Newerth ^.^

And yea LIHL is pretty awesome :P I'm looking forward to your application once you feel ready for it.
About the teaching ... well I hardly play pubs, guess you will need to find someone else ^^ But if you have specific questions feel free to contact me/make a thread here. You can also join the LIHL channel "clan lihl" ingame and ask for people to play with you (if you are lucky) or try to observe LIHL games.

Also, you can find your game history here:
https://entgaming.net/customstats/legio ... ow-walker/

PS: I suggest to play on the [ENT] Legion TD Mega XX bot (not euro) because there usually are much better players.

Thanks a lot, I will try the other bot then :)
I've got a couple of questions actually:
- How do I join a Chat-Channel or observe LIHL-Games?
- Is there a way to zoom out and/or see someones towers during a replay?
- At what rating does it makes sense to start thinking about LIHl (obv. 1300 doesnt cut it)
- Why do LIHL-player send against lvl15 so often?? Is there a specific reason that makes 15 so strong, because I always believed 15 to be one of the easiest levels. thanks

Still looking for some help, tho :)

Join the channel 'clan lihl' on US East. /j clan lihl
You will see players signing for games in the channel and then a game name will appear once players have signed up. You can then join that game as an observer. Some players don't like random observers so just say that you're interested in joining LIHL and it should be no probs :)

No way to zoom out

Just as a very general guideline: 1300 elo on the normal bot playing full solo games is probably about right to make an application. If you cross half games maybe crank that up to about 1500 elo. If you play mainly euro bot then add a bit more elo onto that.

Level 15 is only good if you can get a minimum demon + krak. Ideally you want to send a warlock and furb to each player too. In pub it is highly unlikely to be able to send that much so it isn't scary. Level 15 offers you the advantage to be able to kill the king as levels 12-14 have a hard time killing the king without demons + krakens.

ELO is rarely/never the deciding factor. We have accepted players with 1100 ELO and denied players with 1800 ELO. But as a general guideline I would say 1400-1500ish would be nice.

Because level 15 is the first level where you can send a Demon and a Kraken which means this usually is the first level after level 10 which has a chance to end the game (levels 12-14 are usually too weak to kill a strong King with some heals). If they leak 4 Demons 4 Kraken a few Warlocks and some creeps it will be quite hard to survive already.

Better watch out, I will probably will make use of that more often than you'd expect. Thanks a lot :)

Hey JaySquared,

Might I ask on what battle.net realm are you currently playing?
If you're on useast and you serious about wanting to learn some tricks and trades, you're welcome to join me and 2 idiots of mine..
We play almost daily (at various times though, none of which agreed on beforehand) and we don't mind giving new players some tips. Hell as long as you know where the "Heal King" button is and you know what dmg is good versus what armour you are better than what we usually play with anyways

Let me know if that sounds good to you.

Sincerely,

Skizzy Strike

Hey SkizzyStrike,

I am always looking for people to play with and it sounds awesome to join you guys for some games. The account I'm currently using (JaySquared) is on useast, so it shoul not be a problem :)
There will be days when I'm online for about 20 hours and some where I will hardly play any. For example I will have a lot of time this Saturday and very little on Sunday. I'm sure we will find a time, I'm gonna whisper you as soon as I'm online :)
Is SkizzyStrike your account-name?

Looking forward to it,
Jonas

Hey Jonas,

Yeah my acc. name is SkizzyStrike on europe.bnet, useast.bnet and on entconnect.. so unless typo, not hard to find x]
Just send me a whisp to see if I'm online. Usually only play on my useast acc these days so... Should be easy enough.
I've got no clue as to which days and times I'll be online though. That's too much planning for me atm lol.

Cya on bnet!
