-hpgmcb prophet rule

I just started playing legion on the ent bots after a couple of months off and I learned of this:

When using a mode other than the default one (-hpgmcb prophet), the host (red) has to announce it in the lobby before the game starts. Every player must be informed, so they have the opportunity to leave in case of dislike.

I was wondering when and why this new rule was made. Was there discussion with the community? I haven't been able to find anything about it. Was there even an announcement?

Nope, it wasn't. I was wrong with what started it tho (My memory sucks). It wasn't the Streetweed incident, tho i believe that discussion helped. What really made it was this: https://entgaming.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=147826 Which was a couple days later where i got Nabo. to start a discussion about this in admin board, after this the rule was changed to what it is now.

Technically, hpgmcb is the mode not host picking w.e race right? Mode is "hp"= hostpick. As I mentioned, ill change or affirm my standing of the ban after revision. Ty for the info.

Well previously red had the option to w.e n we didnt ban for most modes since all modes in ltd are actually "playable".

As i said, we will revise our rule and adjust it for better clarification.

Why? To have a mode to draw the line somewhere to the "I consider this normal, no, I like this more"-randomness.

I mean it makes sense, but before this was in effect, I think maybe 40% of the time red would not do -hpgmcb prophet. It seems to me there should have been an announcement about it when the change was made. It has been over a month now, but still. Better late than never.

I come from a game called broken alliances and the mode is autoset on 1 ally. To change the mode you will need to have admin on the bot and most people announce the change of mode before game starts so people can leave. Isn't it better to autoset the mode?

The other modes are acceptable, too, but need to be announced in the lobby. Because let's vaguely say 95% of the players expect -hpgmcb prophet, we don't want any of them to waste their time being on the whim of red's exotic ideas about a game mode. When I started out playing Legion TD as a beginner, I always avoided being red. Problem solved

Also note that for Legion TD 3.5 Beta (the one where you can build a hero, if you don't get/pick Prophet or Hybrid) the standard mode is -sdgmcb.

Because before they could circumvent actually having to learn the game (value+income+strat+placement+sends) they were like 1000/1200 elo. Now all they have to do is one focus value one focus income makes it simple for people who cannot multi task. Those are the ones who complained and got the rule made because anything other than -hpgmcb and they cannot cross properly and thats the only thing they know Oo.

I'm someone who asked for this rule to happen and i play solo 99% of my games, so does all my friends. So you see, it's not about crossing... I, and many others, simply don't like other modes. HPGMCBLI for example would be a mode where you'd say "haha, no cross now" but i'd think "fuck now i can't play solo properly". HPGM is way too luck based for my taste as you can't plan ahead and don't even get me started on AP merc... If you wan't to play one of these modes, or another, all you have to do is take red and ANNOUNCE it. This rule doesn't make playing other modes impossible, it simply helps players to have better chances avoiding modes they don't want to play because people are more likely to announce different modes.
