I am no stranger to regular legion but this whole X10 thing can get a bit hectic at times. I suppose i would be considered a noob, because i have not played that much legion as of recently, even though i do like to partake (Used to play LOTS back in the day before x10 was a thing)
If i enter a game, people are constantly checking stats. So even before we begin the game, these politics are happening, in pub. People tend to overlook this, as i have saw no mention of it in this thread so far, based on what i read. The objective behind these politics is very simple: "I want to win." I-being every individual player. This creates a condition where immediately, teams are being stacked. There is no "Oh, you and I have high ratings, so lets get together!" but rather, they check stats and it is just implied that this is going to happen without any communication at all in pub. Then, after the easy win is secured, of course the shit talking begins, sometimes even going as far as the stacked team sending on level 1, which happens a lot more often than you think.
The only thing i can do is communicate "I am a noob" in which somebody will say "What do you have?" and well go through the routine of seeing what is of value and what isn't, but this is rare. Most of the time, nobody will say anything and after leaking a lvl 1 whelp, the person gets so frustrated they just leave, after being not only berated by teammates but also the other team. This is what the majority of the ENT communities veteran players bring to the fold and it needs to change if the community is to do anything other than what it has been doing, shrinking.
As you can probably see of my stats, i am new to ENT forums, i have not saved replays other than one outside of LTD and in a pub full of vet players, should a noob have to save a replay? -_-' What about a vet saving a replay to report a noob? Should that happen? -_-'
Anyways, the flaming behavior is associated with being anonymous and with ENT the way it is, that is slowly being snuffed out and that is a good thing. I am not saying measures have not been taken to deal with it, clearly it has, but i just do not think its enough. Should a rule be implemented about flaming? Maybe not. Should a SCORE BASED rule be implemented, saying that if you have a high score, it should be your obligation as a member of the community to help? IMO, absolutely.
The focus should be having fun with the game, not attaining easy wins and creating conditions where you can flame from the high ground knowing your going to win anyways.
Sorry for the long post, perspective of a noob, take it for what it is.
