Wave 11 vs EA?

Curious what people think, just lost a game where our shotcaller was convinced that we needed to send 11 because they had an EA cross. The EA builder had 12 ea at arena, and we had upped king for 10 for our leak. Going into arena we had 7/3, 7/4, 7/4, 7/5, and no lumber on any of us. (clearly this alone is reason not to send 11, but even if we had held 10 and not spent ~2000 lumber on the king as a team) I want to know if sending on 11 is supported by any (real) players. I am normally not this cynical, but I have NEVER seen or even HEARD anyone say to send 11 against archer cross.

well it can make sense, archer cross can split hard on 11 and if the archer guy pushed hard he will basically leak both waves + send.. but if he had 12 ea there is really no point in sending.. you could try to send 1 bo each to make him more likely to split.. in the end its just luck/bad luck tho.

There is one very clear reason why I would basically never agree with this: You don't have time to do a proper send (even if you have a ton of lumber the ballistas still have cd). I suppose if you start sending the moment arena begins, and the arena fight drags on, you may have time, but then the opposing team will also be fully aware that you are sending (no fog of war during arena), and can cancel their push and build blockers to minimize the risk of splitting.

You don't have time to do a proper send

definitely agree with this. if you want to do an 11 send, the main advantage would be a surprise, therefore you'd want to send after the arena, which means only 2 ballistas. that's simply not enough.

however fun fact: i did see (in fact, i have a video) of a team winning 11 after blowing 3 enemy heals on 3 and 5. it was played on LForward's stream with a premade of skilled players and it was pretty hilarious - can send a link to video in PM if you want. they started to send during the arena to troll the enemy

In my experience, lvl 11 sends only work in 1v1, and sometimes (unlikely though) in 2v2.

I really like 11 vs. ea cross when you play for time and a long game. Cool for weak double cross builds, but nearly impossible to kill (if they still have heals) which is usually the case for archer cross and skip 10.

You can finish on 11, just very hard, when youre in a position to finish on 11 you can finish on 12 better for sure imo.

This. I just won a 1v1 yesterday, guy had overpushed Works well vs any kind of fortified armor, especialy when value is under 1.7k at arena.

Also, if I might add, it is quite satisfying to win on 11
