How do people normally play Merc? Why is it such a over powered race?

Towers are very strong and cheap, and you have to rebuild all towers every, which makes you able to focus on the upcomming lvl, and then the factor that delaying and gathering wood with merc is way easier then playing normal.. I think merc was made for new players who made errors early, so they didnt have to leave the game, they could simply switch to merc.
This builder should be forbidden to use on elo bot, so people could learn how to play, would be fun to see all those high elos try to play 2 games in a row without merc.. I used merc quiet alot, well not me everytime, but we played with a merc on team ect, cause it gives some freedom to other team mates regarding lumbereing early game, wihtout holding lvl 7 and 10 as well as you normally should.. Anyways dont start using it, its a bad habit and it is ruining the team effort and game play in LTD, also you wont learn about the game if you settle for merc and only play for elo

But if you want to learn how to beat a merc it's universal to understand the race first.

- How to beat a merc:
Anyways, merc are weakest 15, 19 and 20 against demons. Also hard-send can cause them leak a bit on 7, 10, 13 - but usually not worth it, since your own king protection often will be needed against a player with 7/10 during first arena. So practically just try to survive until 19 or 20, if he did 'delay' a lot of waves (such as 9 and 11) there is a high chance he will do the same on 19 - otherwise go for 20.

From my experience, best way to beat a merc is to send the level before they're supposed to send big (they send on 14 so you send 13) as well as doing a MAJOR mass of militia on 10/20/30. They're usually built in a stockpile which will force them to mainly target only one unit at a time (most of the time). Demons/warlocks help as well but that's not until later on.

I really dislike Merc. Some people are scandalous for a win. My favorite modes are hphgmmgg (hybrid) OR hplihgmmggcb (prophet). Thanks for the heads up, I tried Merc once. Way too easy and lumber rises quickly.

Well if you don't want any possibility of mercs in your game, then you should apply for LIHL or play 3.5
