Hey guys,
I'm starting to play again this great game I play since Lisk in 2010 Legion TD. It's been a year I'm off and it's almost become unplayble because of the 'points' thing (people wins and lose are being written and people only play for a quick fix to win on lvl 7 or 8, max 11). I like playing against another team for sure, and win, but it becomes impossible to even play with your own. A team is people communicating, but you have no way to know if you'll agree or disagree with the dude on this who constantly flag, shout, rant at you as soon as you move, wait, don't build a wisp at start, or wait to get a better unit instead of lumbering. I guess I'll just have to stop and go to Lisk version of Legion TD 2 since he created a game of thinking and strategy. But Legion TD mega seems to have been taken over by totalitarian kids without any sense of that (they shout the lvl king should be upgraded to, for exemple lvl 11 and if you do more they just rant like there's no tomorrow, like upgrading king to 12 and 11 will be different). Then they leak all lvls and the game becomes stupid. It use to be great to build on Legion TD, patiently, but it seems it became a flood of insults between same team player with one ranting 'leader' telling the most absurd uniformized 'strategy' (basically kill on 7 or 8) to finish everything as soon as possible. I suppose they probably report like crazy everybody who is not ok with the ranting leader but still play
I guess one solution would be to rethink the win/lose informations available. Honestly, for my part there's no pleasure on this anymore. lisk would hate what this has become.
What you think ?

Re: The 'team' radicals
Hey guy,
Honestly, to me this sounds exactly like some mega players that don't care about team, overbuild every level to never leak a single unit, not pushing and just doing your own game listening to nobody. Maybe I get it wrong, correct me then. But in your examples, ofc it makes a difference if you do late wisps (you can still cancel early ones), up king on 12 instead 11 (losing inc) etc.
Well, this is a team game, and you should play like what's best for the team and not do ego-game. Then you should play 1v1, there's a server for that. For sure, there are people taking this game too serious and start raging then, but a medium level of taking the game as a competition with the purpose of winning should be inside everybody imho.
Maybe you can point out more clearly where you play? On normal Legion TD Mega Bot? Then, for sure it's often no fun cause half of the people there don't know how to play the game and you should increase your elo to play on 1200+ bot, games there are way better and also more relaxed. If you are talking about 1200+ already, then I stuck with my very first sentences xD
I guess the fact that your thread was opened in the In-House League section, was just a mistake and you don't talk about LIHL?
So, I like the elo system, seeing a w/l ratio etc. if you don't like it why not just hosting your own games? Everybody can open games...

Re: The 'team' radicals
Hello,
Thanks for your answer. I do believe I'm paying attention to the team as a whole (who's lacking, how much you should overbuild if that's the case, even if you have space to grow lumber and I always follow team sending). I come from old Legion games where leaks didn't even bring gold. Now recently I had so much so called 'teamplayers' who build squat, maximize lumber, have an all prepared 'let's play as a team', leak half the time until lvl 15 when they have enough lumber, always command, insult, tell you what to do, not for the team but for their stupid strategy which needs upgrading king from 10 because they need income because they are undervalued. And they constantly comment on everyone, on everything that needs to go 'according to the team', with flags on the map if you upgrade king above lvl 11. Sometimes a player is behind schedule on wood, sometimes is better, team is not uniformizing everybody to a one-minded plan, it's also taking into account what the other is doing to balance. When I'm way above someone else, I don't start shouting, insult, say what other need to do, I just use it. Many games are alright but I've noticed this trend of 'fake team argument'.
Anyway it was just my two cents....

I know what you are talking about, and I think this is a problem of playing in public. My advise: Increase your elo above 1200 and come join the 1200+ server. It's a new world there, really, totally different. People mostly are nice and respectful and you play decent games
I couldn't stand playing in public now either...

In my opinion @brandnew is denouncing the exact opposite. He wants to play his game but some of his teammates have their team strategy in mind that leads to winning the game.
So all in all those people play this version and this Bot because they like a competitive game and want to improve their rating with their strategy.
brandnew wants to have fun and just build like on older versions of LegionTD that were less competitive.
What you can do to get this feeling back is to find some people that share the same attitude and play for the fun. I'm sure there are plenty of those
Re: The 'team' radicals
It's true that I like Legion TD for the game, so total competition for me is a bit irrelevant, I definitely prefer going to 31 than end everything at 7. But I can manage as long as I can still have a game that's enjoyable.
And about the team, I'm a regular team player, meaning I follow what the team is doing mostly by looking around what's going on. The problem is the 'leader' radical with totally questionable strategies who constantlty rant to do what they want, and while they're ego-driven, you could be pointed out as not 'part of the team'.

Re: The 'team' radicals
Yea, well, I guess I got it correct in my first post and then in his 2nd post I got it wrong. So you are right @Jabba41 and @CreativeLP
So, an advise to @brandnew:
No matter how you see it, LTD is a competitive game that's about winning. I also like when games last longer then level 20, but it's more likely to end there or before probably. But this is not a reason to do things that just dont make any sense only to keep the game running. If att 11 is enough if king ability is wave, then it's enough. Att 12 won't help, so, no need to up it, rather go HP and Reg. And for winning, this can make differences, believe it or not. Same with late wisps, late sendig and losing income etc. Or, why not send 7 when enemy is weak that level, just to "no kill" him and prolongue the game. I would rage, too, if I had people like this in team.
And like Jabba41 said, do stuff like that on advanced servers, and you will get flamed at even harder. Wanting a longer game, does not mean doing things that make no sense. Then you might have to play different TDs

Re: The 'team' radicals
Just don't play on this bot then.
Like people who play on ent want to keep track of there elo.
Just how it is man

Re: The 'team' radicals
If you don't want to follow a team strategy and want a more 'relaxed' game where you max income and don't kill the other team then best to play on ucw bot.
