"ECONNRESET" = "Plug pulled"

Hey guys,

what does ECONNRESET mean? Someone just dropped out in a 1200+ game instantly without that timer stuff etc. displaying this error message. Is it just a drop-out or can it mean anything or... did this dude "pull plug" (or disconnect his WLAN or whatever, you know what I mean)?
If it's pulled plug in a situation where a team has a clear advantage over the 3 remaining players... I guess you would still draw it, wouldn't you? But IMO there has to be a punishment for the leaver. Maybe consider ELO penalties for such a behaviour on top of Bans? :twisted: :lol:

Its all about this game if you are interested:

Thats a total loss of the connection which COULD be plug pulling, yes.

@rolfdafiftynine we won't implement elo adjustment as a compensation for losing connection. The only "dc penalties" we have is for the LIHL due to the nature of the gaming structure.

That's a shame. I encountered multiple players that kill for ELO, even on 1200+. The current system encourage those guys to just drop out of the game to not lose their precious ELO.

@rolfdafiftynine

If you find it distracting, you can always apply for lihl should your skill meet the standards. Wer will not be implementing ELO adjustments in public games.

yeah, I am afraid they dont.

Plus, I find it a bit wierd to apply for a tournament but I see you have your reasons for that.

even if they dc or drop w/e you call it, they still lose elo if their team loses.

Ps: LIHL is not a tournament, it is an in-house league.

Yeah, I like to participate but I feel really silly to record myself playing and posting it there so other people can judge if I am worthy or not.

Well, that is the way the things are, as they have allways been :)

Besides, all your games are recorded wether you like it or not, you just have to link the games you like to your application, and the moderators may ofc also pick a random replay to watch, if they feel for it. But the choice is up to you mate.

Hm maybe I think about it. Posting a replay makes me just feel like a dude who wants to brag with his epic skills. I know I dont play perfectly and then also many people judge every move I made in it... really strange but w/e no one knows me on the internet I guess :p
