If you can't handle a little bit of flame you might not last too long in the LIHL Just keep in mind everyone has to start somewhere and everyone did start somewhere

Re: Akitos@Europe
I am kinda afraid of this pony dude... he scares the living shit out of me with all these colours and unicorns and ponies and what not
I vote we give him a survival camp in the wilderness to learn him something about manhood!

Re: Akitos@Europe
So you say i'm not a real men because i enjoy a cartoon originally targeted to little girls (and their parents)? Is that what you want to say?
If that really is the case all i have to say is: In my opinion MLP:FiM is a well made cartoon for all ages that adresses alot of viral issues that anyone can identify with at some point. Also the writing/voiceacting is extremly impressive (tara strong & john de lancie in particular), especially the songs, and i'm proud to be a part of the fandom around it! So yeah, if it is suddenly not manly to stand up for what you like and don't give a buck about what others think, well, then i'm not a men i guess
EDIT: Oh and while you're at it, please go and explain to Dusty why exactly he's not a men.
Also don't forget the other military bronies, a drill instructor would be a good place to start! I'm sure they'd like to hear how weak they are for watching a "little girls show" while risking their asses to protect us. "I grew up as the oldest of 3 boys and i'm in the U.S. Marine Corp... appearently i'm feminin"

Re: Akitos@Europe
Hehe, yeah there are some hilarious pics :'D The animation is what got me to watch it in the first place aswell^^ I had a friend in skype who used a pony avatar and i was like, oh, this looks cool, where is it from? So then he told me about the show and what a brony is and tbh, at first i didn't even believe him I thought he was just teasing me. There is no way millions of grown men enjoy a show made for little girls and are even sort of obsessed with it. But he was total serious, told me it was a good show and i should really check it out, and since i'm someone who's always up for new experiences i did. The first minutes were.. dno.. weird i guess.. and i wasn't quite sure what to think about it after i've seen my first episode. You see, a part of me wanted to like the show because there were lots of funny stuff in it that made me grin, but another, more dominant, part told me stuff like:
"Dude, its a show for little girls! You can't possibly like that! I mean it's cute, funny and all but.. It is a kids show! There won't be a good plot to keep you watching. It's a show you may watch from time to time when nothing else runs on television, like Spongebob for example, but nothing you turn on because you want to watch it and definitly not something you could watch more then 1-2 episodes a row." But since i wanted to see what all the fuzz is about i checked out some more episodes (i mean, there is gotta be something about it when so many people like it. Also my friend had a good taste in movies/series that i've often agreed with so i figured it can't be too bad if he likes it) and it felt like the series just got better from episode to episode. I quickly started empathising with some of the protagonists which surprised me alot since i didn't expect a "kids show" to have characters that are deep enough for me to empathise with them. But they really are and there is some serious character development going on during the series. You'll sorta see them "maturing" and that is what excites me the most. Nothing is certain! Just like in reallife the characters can go completly nuts and do things you would've never expected them to do, yet it still feels like a legit reaction that you may sympathise with.
Good examples:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEgNh_ezJ0Q - A special episode where the ponies get sucked into a comic book universum, basicly a parody on different marvels. This scene is about is Fluttershy, who has a rather introverted and shy personality. In this particular episode she gets the power of the Hulk, but since nothing is making her mad she can't make use of it to help her friends. That is until the Mane-iac (Mix from the Joker and Dr. Octopus) hurts a poor animal, and since Fluttershy frkn loves animals this finaly makes her mad and yeah, look yourself :'D Moments like this are the reason i bucking love this series, i definitly didn't see it coming and it made me laugh so hard )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYV0tnRe-i4 - Well yeah :'D Not much to say about that ^^ Twilight has only a day left until her friendship report to Celestia but she didn't solve a friendship problem yet and she gets so paranoid about what Celestia would do to her for being tardy on a task that she goes completly nuts. She even tries to make a friendship problem in order to solve it :'D Hilarious episode and the one where i realised how epic this series really is.
Also i've shaken off my inner genderrole stereotype bullshit that has been hammered into me by my parents, friends, todays society, etc, and realised it is ok for both, men and women, to do what ever they like aslong as they don't hurt anyone else with it. There is no such thing as a "girls toy" or a "boys toy"! Stereotypes like this are MUUUUCH older then me and i for one don't even know why they still exist. To me they're nothing but a big lie, camouflaged as a fact by todays society. You grow up with these genderroles and therfore you feel weird when you like something "you shouldn't like", as if you're broken or something, but that is just wrong! You're not broken in any way and watching a cartoon for little girls won't turn you gay or anything Don't let genderroles/stereotypes limit your experience! Be open minded! Welcome to the 21th century, where women can vote and men like ponies! Once i realised this elementary truth i got to enjoy MLP:FiM for what it is: A good show!
