Help Wanted
Im not new to dota, but it has been a few years since I have played. Could someone pair up with me on skype or vent and help me out as I try to reintegrate back into Dota?
I'm not a shitty player, though I wasn't ever super pro. I make a pretty good support, and can typically manage with the easy carries (Stygwr, Lycan) I can't remember many of the recipes, nor do i know anything about the newer versions.

Re: Help Wanted
There is a link who might help you to get some recipes on heroes :
http://dotabuff.com/heroes
I know, that's about Dota 2 but it works on Dota 1 too.
That link can also help you to counter-pick, to pick your skills and other things. Honestly, I think it will help you a lot, but I'll give you an advice : Don't always buy the same items on your hero, it usually depends on your ennemy team.
Exemple : With TA against SF or Slardar, I could get medallion of courage (I usually get phase boots, desolator instead).
I hope I helped you
GL for finding your teammate !

1500 Elo
300 wins/150 losses
which means 150 more wins than losses. In other words about 1 elo gain per win. lol... ONE ELO per win... that is amazing stacking action.
if you had been playing remotely even games (where the elo gain is 15) you would have been 2250 Elo after having 150 more wins than losses (300 wins * 15 elo subtracted by 150 losses * 15 elo)
at least have something better than a 66% win rate when your wins have gained you about 1 elo each...
Re: Help Wanted
Zerodenies, don't you have better things to do than spam ent forums? Your post can't make sense, even to someone like you...

last time i checked, 500 (additional elo ) divided by 150 (more won games) was not 1, but 3 1/3.
(u might say it is not much better. It is since it shows how you tend to do 'step mistakes')
second part is false as well. you forgot to add the 1000 starting elo that everybody gets. This would make 3250 elo.
And how many people do have this high elo? can you name...uhm like 5? no?
this is what you expect of him.
you cannot handle basic arithmetic operations ...so we do not expect you to understand that a high elo account makes the game stacked eventhough they might be the only good player with 4 noobs you cant rely on. Or the fact that especially noobs stack and stick to the high elo players which makes it harder for them to carry against a decent team (players who do not stack because they know what they are capable of) ...etc etc etc
Re: Help Wanted
Indeed - his math has really obvious flaws. For example, if you have 1000 wins, 500 losses:
1000-500=500
500*15=7500
7500+1000(starting)=8500
Hopefully you can see why your formula is ridiculous! Or, at 5000 wins 2500 losses, you are expected to have 38500 elo. Really?
I don't think I've ever played a 1 elo game...
1000-500=500
500*15=7500
7500+1000(starting)=8500

Re: Help Wanted
Fuck elo... Play for the fun of it for god sake... The day you'll sit in the TI4-TI5 etc... And that you win the tournement with 2 million dollar to your team or so. You can come back and show off your stats and skills. Until then, it doesn't really matter, these stats are pub/pub mean nothing.
You can be 100 win 150 lose and have higher elo than someone having 150 - 100. If you win an average of 20 elo per win and you lose 10 per lose.
So you do the next math.
100 * 20 = 2000 + 1000 (starting) = 3000
10 * 150 = 1500.
3000 * 1500 = 1500 elo with a win rate of 40%
Then to the other side.
150 * 10 = 1500 + 1000 = 2500
100 * 20 = 2000
2500 - 1000 = 500 elo. but win rate of 60%
See? Win or lose mean shit. I know this isn't perfect but it's to explain how stats are working.
Take also note that once you reach 1600+ elo people jump to stack with you and even if they doesn't, when you reach the 2k elo, it is hard to win up to 20 elo, even 10 + elo.... So let's get real... w.e happen, stats are just a number, I make new account I'll play like a 1.8k elo even if I'm 1k... Shhhhhhhh. Experience and years of playing over a bot stats. Was playing before even bot exist so.. Stop telling look that's my stats and I'm better than X Y... Stats should be a record of your own performance and be there to compare/track/see your progress.
If you want to learn, come on dota2 and PM me on the forum, I'll coach you with no problem. There's a coaching system with in-game vocal system therefore no skype needed. Really cool. (Dota2 = more advantage to dota1)
Wish you best.
P.S : 25$ for 3 game coached. After that it's 10 the games. Btw. In PM I'll give you all my paypal information so I can take the first payment and then we go see what we can do for you. I accept only Visa / MasterCard / American Express / PayPal money / Bank account.
PPS: It's a joke.
No, I'm serious. Sorry.
Add-On (edit) :
Ok, let me get this clear. If he win 1 elo per win. 300 win = 300 elo. How did he even reached the 1500?
Also, if he win 1 elo, he lose 29, do the math, 29 * 150 = 4350.
So let's say he got 300 win big stacking without losing one. He get to 1300 elo. And then lose none stop.
1300 - 4350 = -3050
I think he will be in minus and number on with a minus elo score. Therefore, your thoughts about how much he wins/game is false. Review and go back to grade one in highschool math. Please. Make us this favor.

Re: Help Wanted
doesnt change the fact that with over 150 more wins youve only won 500 elo.
and like the first 200 elo is like easy to gain since you are smurfing.
its embarassing to see an admin stack and not even rack up wins. in fact my first account zerodenies was like 1500 elo with almost exactly 50% win rate. at times I had more losses than wins.
and yea my math was wrong, i dont play dota anymore so i even overlooked stupid stuff like how you start with 1000 elo. but 1500 elo with 300 wins/150 losses.... doesnt take a genius to know that those wins were worth awfully less.
it also doesnt change the fact that, had you been playing perfect non stacked games where 15 elo is on the line every time, you would have had a loooot more elo.
i mean once you hit 1600/1700, thats where i can understand you excuse for having wins that are worth such little elo. but at only 1500. LOL.
point is, had you been playing even games, your account numbers would never look like that. NEVER.

point ist, you don't thing your logic through. I get it that you are frustrated because you got banned unjustly. You have the right to be angry. But what I do not get is your urge to try to degrade people. You do not succeed though. Not only because you have many flaws in your explaintation (btw admin is not equal to mod.) ... your constant attempts to find anything to use "against" people tells so much more about you than about the other person.
nevertheless, it is noble that you try not to stack. But what if i told you that elo means almost nothing? even considered the ratio of won/lost games does not make sure that you can tell if someone is good or bad.
with my account lothlorien I had like 1300 elo and 40% won games ... with a kdr of 0,25 made new accounts since this high elo does not in any way represent my skills.. (of course i could have let it drop by just playing..*what i did eventually* but i found it unfair to my teams who would lose much elo for enduring a noob like me) .. my other account Lijanas has atm 1350 (was almost 1400 week ago before i made a new one).. with 17 more won games. and a kdr of 0,2:D (even worse than the first one) ...
does it make me a pro? since I even used to deny more than the most of my better lanepartner or the opponent. with lothlorien I have in less than 500 games and more than 2000 denies. i know that is pretty low, but its more than many other players who are far better than me. I just mentioned this to show you that your scale is not to be trusted in every case.. ofc it is an indicator..but so many things are not considered.
the reason that such an unskilled player as I am has such a high elo should explain the problem..
players, especially elo hunters, usually go to the other team when they see my kdr. The ones who stay with me are decent players who play for fun and who don't mind losing elo (these are the people who have 900-1100 elo due to lost games because of noobs.. but are actually skilled like someone with 1,5k)... i try not to feed and somehow these decent players manage to win the game and get us 20 elo... and almost in every game especially lately..there is one very skilled player often with only 1,4-1,5k.... who carries the hell out of his mates but still loses because his team stacked at the beginning seeing his elo ...
you said yourself..you stopped playing dota.. if you didn't you would notice that for elo horny players 1,2k is enough to stack to that person.
All this besides the fact that in at least 20% of the games there is one new account who plays like at least 1,7. This guy doesnt stack to the 1,4 elo player (he is aware of his skills) .. so the 1,4 player is left with a bunch of stackers (he is no stacker himself) while the new acc player is to play with the decent players who like the challange playing against a strong player.
Who is probably going to win? and is the elo distribution fair? the 1,4k elo player will easily lose his 20 elo inspite of playing well..but will have a harder time get 15..because the smurf accounts tend to avoid such high elo teams.
omg, what a long post:/ but i just cant stand when people think its just enough to repeat a nonsense many times to make it seem true.

Re: Help Wanted
95% of dota 1 players stack. thats what happens when you dont have a match making system. If you dont have anything stopping you from playing inbalanced games, why wouldn't you stack? That's why these a-bal games fail because nothing is stopping them from joining a regular APEM.
I recently played a game where 4 high elo players all joined on one team with a low elo player. As soon as the game started they tried to do a votekick on the low elo player saying "hes a feeder, he ruins games, boot him".
dota 1 sucks for this very reason. I like it better than hon or lol but with every game being stacked one way, it makes the gaming experience garbage.
