I don't really think there is a flaming issue in the channel.

Yes sometime people get angry and say a few words more but it happens in competitive gaming, and it never goes past the heat of the moment.

I can tell you a list of names I've personally argued intensively in the heat of the moment but going on from the next game everything is good between us. Because it is just a game, and being competitive means you badly want to win which can bring some temporarily heat up.

@aRt)y I am not quite sure where have you seen competitive and hardcore gaming without flaming. I've been a hardcore winning gamer for around 6-7 years of my life in few different games ( cs , dota , warcraft III , wow , red alert 2 ). There is always some heat of the moment, there is always aggression because we play to win at that level. ( of course there are always limits. ) it is impossible to be competitive and always absolutely calm. Attitude and character however is how you handle that heat and how you act once the moment is gone.

But attitude and flaming there is a huge difference. There is no flaming issue in this league, however there are few people with poor attitude that are a bad influence.

Edit : To original poster's subject

I'd welcome the bot for a change and more relaxed games ( since I'm never fully concentrated in the games for months now ) and it could make things easier to spot out people with potential to make our league larger, and hoping we can improve quality of attitude also :P

1. We do have rules against flaming. Because we operate under the ENT umbrella, all of ENT's custom game rules apply in this league. This is explicitly stated in the LIHL rules section.
  • The definition of "excessive flaming" is a bit grey but I feel that 99% of the complaints in the LIHL do not constitute excessive flaming. Excessive flaming is using racial slurs or repetitive bombardment of insults directed at one player. Saying "omg you suck" or "wtf is this noob build" or "your a retard" once in a while will generally not get the attention of mods to intervene. This, unfortunately, is the gaming world that we live in. You will find that it's much worse in WoW, LoL, Dota2, etc. Our LIHL is in reality a pretty well behaved community when you compare it to other MMO and online games.

2. As a mod, I find it very hard to act on anything that has been complained about so far. All I've heard is "there is too much flaming"
  • If you wish there to be anything done about a specific case you need to post specific examples! (i.e. chat logs, screen shots) If you feel that you have been excessively flamed, post about it in the forums and use links and quotes to prove your case. (Nothing can be done to impact the overall atmosphere of the league by the mods because we are not in every game to "babysit" the attitude of all the players). What we can do, however, is punish individuals who are excessively flaming others as long as we have the proper evidence to back up the claim.

3. We cannot make an ELO penalty for flamers. This will disrupt the overall ELO balance and we have been told to avoid this by uakf.b. We can, however, issue temporary unvouches.

4. In my honest opinion, it is not the flaming that is the problem, it is the players' ego.
  • My point being - nearly every player in this league thinks that they are the best player around. So what happens in games is that everyone tries to take the lead and micro-manage everyone else's builds. Also, players cannot see their own faults but are quick to point out the faults in others. Obviously people start to disagree and people start to feel like their "alpha male" status is threatened. This leads to emotional backlash at each other because players feel the need to prove that they are smarter and more skilled than each other. It's the male ego and the competitive gamer's ego that is ruining the relaxed and fun environment that we used to have. I would assume that if we took away the ELO system entirely that you would see almost no flaming. It's just boys being boys and gamers being gamers. IMO - people need to put themselves in check and realize that this is a team game.

We all came to the LIHL to find a competitive, safe and fun environment. It is up to the community to keep it that way!

Thats fine by me, see I did stop, now why did I stop, cause bad people like you invaded this league, no offence to mod, they just keeping the league busy and active, but to be hornest, so many weak players in this league, and the biggest problem? You keep being bad, no progress, no evolution, You actually kept doing delays weeks after it was made a ban offence, you ignorant way of playing proves you cannot evolve, you have no potential to improve, we didnt want people like you in the league the first season, why you may wonder, simple, we had enough good players to fill games and keep bots busy, now they just invite every person that is up for it and put them on trial.

Instead of spending so much time on forum people like you should do as we did in first season, actually play when you have time instead of wasting it on forum, that is the way to improve, that is the way to evolve, look at Ba, this is a guy, I barely knew before I started playing Lihl(probably many people knew him way better then me), but now for me personally the best in Lihl, he improved gradually over time, kept signing whenever he was available, not spending time on forum, people like this is what kept the league going, and if you look at activity for the entire league youll see that not only my win/lose rate tells that Im a great player, youll also see that my activity is in top 5 for this entire league for the past 3 seasons, it is people like this that actually saved you from playing public merc games, nomatter how bad you are, and you really are bad, very bad, and we kept this league going by playing the games, and staying active, now Im not very proud of the hours Ive spend on the game, nor am I proud of the mess Ive created for my self on the forum the past couple of months and getting into silly idiotic fights over nonsence, but people like you have gotten on my nerves for to long, and now that Im no longer to active anymore Ive spend time hitting back at you freaking assholes destroying this league, for your incomptence and ignorant attitude, It is funny that actually not before season 3 started I started to spend time on forum I had like 5 posts on lihl section before season 3, but you fucking retards made me burst into flames, and ruin this whole community, and I probably responded in a very wrong way, but who gives a fuck, Just have some respect, and remember that people who actually played the game is the reason that you fuckers get to whine on this forum like little bitches. Also remember to improve or quit, Ive heard tetris is the new shiet, and you my friend is suited for it, single player, easy, no brain game, just what you need

It's multiplayer, you need brains to think few steps ahead of your oppenent in no time. Fuck it's not that easy to master tetris, lol.
EDIT: I totaly agree with lihl skill quality. It is way worse than you expect by it's representation. But can you find better? Gues not. If you really are that good as you describe yourself, there are two options: stay in lihl or quit wc3. I personally have no first option, so spending free time on forum while bored and making such replies is what i do now ;D (or you can also get into 1v1 tops, to leave a trace of your awesomeness, haha 8-) )

Im not gonna take this further, Ive made my point, I could go on and on about my huge accomplishments in this game ^_^ But its just a game, Im not that proud of it, Im here to play and have fun and enjoy myself, but when I sit an entire game, and we are in clear lead, but other team decides to leak 100000000 units, not to win, but to die slower then us, to bug the game, I get tired of the leagues evolution, this is what is ruining the niveau in this league, and the reason why people dont evolve, cause they have no intention of actually winning, but to die slowly..

Just to ask, you for real tell me tetris is multiplayer?

If you're playing vs another human being(or many of them at the same time), it must be multiplayer... It's so offtopic though

There is a heads up tetris game ( therefore multiplayer or the single player standard game )

Tetris requires sick reflexes and you should be quite good in pattern recognition ( shapes in this occasion ) and the predictions ( possibilities theory )

@goatsbegone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwC544Z37qo for you, tetris requires sick skills at some point :P

It's a tetris video, no need to watch it all. Since the beginning of the video is kinda boring, usually you skip such videos to see why it has full blue "like/dislike" bar and 5 mil views. Most of the times worth it.

Glad to see someone standing up for tetris. I have played a lot, before I got into wc3 customs, and had about 60k high score in Ultra. Good times.

I think this topic is dead.. It's been more about Tetris than the initial posted topic lol.

I'm archiving this

Cheers!
