ban appeal

Postby JayBilas » Wed Jul 09, 2014 6:13 pm

Warcraft III username: parkwaydrive
Realm: useast
Situation:ive been banned for 5 days?
Why you should be unbanned: because this is my friends computer. and he wont be able to play dota/legion/castle fight all week. his name is georeduke on useast.

secondly i dont play on europe so i dont know how i was ban request on the europ realm.
this guy specifically pointed me out for not healing. but i dont even remember which game this was. i dont see a scenario where i wouldnt purposefully heal. i dont throw my games for any reason. if i didnt heal it would be an error in misclicking or confusion on turn order.

i have played so many games here, like super high rate of stay on legion. the only reason i have any leaves at all, is because of connectivity issues.

again id like to reiterate that i have never been reported for game ruining plz unban my friends ip.

Re: my ban

Postby JayBilas » Wed Jul 09, 2014 8:04 pm

ENT mods, i would very much appreciate a reply on this appeal please. My friend was playing last night and a guy says he ruins the game, so my (Georgeduke) ip is banned for 5 days. He(parkwaydrive) made the post earlier and does not believe he ruined the game. like he stated it wasnt on purpose, his teammates healed out of order to seem like he ruined it. either way, i don't believe my ip should be banned. We have played many games together and he is not me. please reconsider this ban.

You two use the same forum account?

A: Stop that, get your own forum accounts.
B: Start making posts from your own houses...

I'm auto signed in and he posted this afternoon. He was over for the evening, there for at my house. I cleared things up from my user name. Its my IP address so there for im the one banned and would like things figured. He has his own account as well, but has not been to his home yet this evening. Honestly, i dont feel as tho that is of main concern, please someone deal with this. @cambrioleuse

so @cambrioleuse u come here to only tell me that my friend needs to post at his own house, and/or not use my user name? It was just reaction and he didnt think to sign out. It would be appreciated if you would read into the problems not just critique a minor issue. I and He, were very clear with the circumstance. thank you.

If we can't tell who is who how can you expect us to unban one of you and leave the other one banned?

Hello,
This is parkwaydrive and that useast account should be the username linked to this account.

@cambrioleuse there are a few obvious reasons as to why I posted this appeal on my friends
account if you just take the time to read my explanation in the initial post I made at around 2 pm.

A: His account was autologged into his browser and I was trying to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
B: I didn't know that it would be better to post the appeal under my account. Really it isn't that obvious to do so since the ban is on his ip.

Either way the fact remains that georgeduke has already been banned for the day. I don't see the justification in leaving this ban up as I was the one who was accused.

As stated earlier I do not agree with the accusations that I was "game ruining". If you check either of our records you will see that our stay rates are extremely high and that we have not had previous requests against us for the same infractions.

So lets say for the sake of argument that you review the request and again and find that both the request and ban have merit, that still leaves an innocent party banned. Georgeduke is mainly a DOTA player anyway.

I will say that I find this whole situation a bit unreasonable. A few mods are aware of this situation, the response to the ban request was immediate and yet we still have no reply but for one that just scolds us for the procedure we took to uplift the ban. So; at the very least, could we receive some sort of response that determines wether or not any action will be taken on this matter at all?

I and He made it very clear from the first post who was who @cambrioleuse . To me this seems open and closed. I am not that user, he is no longer at my home. I have been a Ent member for a long time and dont have any history of mischief. Nor does he for that matter. Please unban my Ip. Its been all day as it is.

@jaybilas

I'm sorry but something here just seems weird and the fact it has been difficult for him to post his own appeal is rather, well, against protocol and kinda odd. Regardless, this situation has come up before I know ... I'm not sure how many times but when it comes down to it a person is responsible for who and what happens on their ip...they share the punishment because they enabled it. This banning of you/your friend and then allowing one to play even though the ips were shared isn't ok -- especially numerous times.

possibly @bouncinghitman would consider a slight reduction, but if not I am going to deny this appeal sorry

Nothing is weird at all to be quiet honest. The only mistake was user parkwaydrive not signing in to his account. An honest mistake, being that i was auto signed in. 5 days is a hefty fine for the circumstances. He was at my home playing for the evening there for using my cpu and ip. He is no longer here and ive done nothing wrong. I feel as tho the whole day has been long enough. I have a good history with this server and I am constructive player.

@child honestly this seems very ridiculous. Parkwaydrive wasnt game ruining to begin with. There doesnt seem to be just reasons to ban me for 5 days. once again. the whole day seems enough.

I have PM'd @bouncinghitman with no reply. Not only did the first response for this issue come 6 hours after the appeal post, the appeal wasnt even considered. I appreciate @child responding, but this issue has gotten out of hand. the initial ban on user parkway drive, on my ip address (georgeduke) needs to be appealed to begin with. I see how the forum names could confuse someone, but not when we are both being very honest with the situation, trying to get it resolved. Please unban this IP.
