Its not just ent.

Check out allstars, eleos, clan drb, pdc etc.

These guys messed up a lot of USeast clans over the years now they've moved into europe.

It's not going to go away. Blizzard won't act either.

Not true.
Its true blizzard dont act here anymore, because they only keep alive servers but thats it.

About the ddos, if you meant this relating to the clans, its also a lot about scaling, low costs servers and good quality.
Im owning ohsystem, we have one server, its expensive, but we could take 2 days ago a ddos which had a 3 times greater capacity than the one on ent 2 days ago, without a single spike on any bot (i was playing at that time).
Having a larger community and a good quality vps servers all over the world will relate to the same costs, maybe.

Hard to stop ddos. Blizzard has been getting ddosed hard and their servers aren't small by any means.

I just can share my experience. We hadn't a single spike :-)

But I agree with you. I like to have a rootserver which is powerful enough to control and offer all my hosting.
For me it's enough, also if im running currently on low capacity (only around 12,5%, I have only 10 out of 80 bots active).

It all has advantages and disadvantages, the main problem we have is as example, that we can't offer world wide quality hosting. For europe all is fine, but as soon as US players join its not that good, they have a ping from 100-200ms. I could also get around 20 VPS server which costs the same all around the world, but the chance to be targeted by a ddos highly increase, and i'm a lot more damageable.

However, i switched the linux kernel on my root, so i host VM's on it, but this is only for structuring, backup and restore.
And we were attacked on one of the VM's. As I said, I didn't knew it and I was playing at this time, I was surprised when my provider send me that information...

And afaik, here not only VPS servers running, I guess more KVM's.

If you are still disconnecting in the last 24 hours, then the issue is unrelated.
