Hi all,
since god.lik3 has been unvouced for his behaviour i wanted to ask if it's possible to use different mode of punishment than unvouch.
To me it feels like we are getting no games. due to players being unvouched resulting in a punishment for all active players, not just the one who is supposed to be punished.
Maybe instead of unvouching it is possible to use a different method of for example -25 or -50 elo?
This way it only hurts the player who did the harm ....

Re: suggestion
-100 elo per offense? Would really throw a curve ball to those who break rules (since this should never happen to begin with). Games would continue, but the amount of elo lossed would still effect the entire community.

Re: suggestion
ELO penalties might be effective, but they would also contradict the meaning of ELO.

Re: suggestion
can't fully agree with that, diablo. elo not only shows how good at game you are, but also how you can communicate with your team, and how stable is your connection; as high skilled MOBA player, you should know that ability to not flame your team and keep spirit up is way more imporant than making little mistakes

Re: suggestion
Well, I never said ELO only shows how good you are at the game (maybe you meant supersexyy?)
It simply shows how good you are at winning games, be that directly through skill, or indirectly through keeping the motivation up, leading the team etc. That's also why ELO more or less is the only meaningful stat in MOBAs (besides winrate) and KD and so on have no direct relation to how good a player is.
Regardless, if you take like 50 ELO away because you broke a rule, it would manipulate the ELO system in a way it shouldn't do.

Re: suggestion
Well, it's already not exactly elo, and manipulating it more will not hurt i guess. But i don't think it will drastically help with lowering rule breaks, maybe only with keeping population up. More so, we can't predict how it will turn out, maybe it will actually increase number of rule breaks because someone can just don't care about elo, and temp. unvouching is harsh enough to keep people away from doing shit. Thinking of it all, i actually concluded that it's better to leave things how they are now.
Re: suggestion
I thought that if the punishment is -elo, it might result in more activity as the lost elo has to be recovered somehow.
Got your point though there...
Just don't like this system, as it hurts the community too, instead of just punishing the offender...
THere should be another alternative but can't think of one right now.

Re: suggestion
@Bit DC penalties were originally implemented to counter pping, not to punish everyone who dcs. Unfortunately, it has become used in this a way, and punished by the mods in this way. When you are about to win/indisputably on track to win/etc. and dc, getting penalized is just stupid...

Re: suggestion
Thanks for the suggestion yolo, but as we said we don't want to do elo punishments, even if they might be a bit more effective.
