differnt elo
ok so there is a lot of drama going around involving the stats system and there is definitely enough threads debating whether to keep or not to keep. on this topic but different. i think that your elo should be based off of every acct you play with this way there is no smurfing and each player is tracked not just the acct. this way the people who stack will also have their accts that they dont stack in added into their precious elo. and so forth. k/d and all the others aswell. now there could be a few problems with this but its just a rough idea maybe someone might have more answers to. like for one problem i can think of off the top of my head. if say in my case. me and my brother play dota. so we have the same ip so in this case if the elo were to be combined like im suggesting his stats and my stats would be the same. or maybe if you dont want to combine the stats maybe you could do someting like !TSD for totalstatsdota idk. this is my suggestion feel free to comment

I have a dynamic ip, So i can pull the plug on my modem for 2 seconds and have a fresh ip adress, I do like the idea but it wouldnt work in my case.
Also what if i went to play at a netcafe and there had been 50 people that play on ent and they are all 900 elo, I would punish to many people.

ok so how do you get banned if you have a dynamic ip which just automatically changes your ip IF and only if the ip you currently have is taken within the 2 seconds you turn off your modem. if you had a static ip it wouldnt change. or how could you have all your accts that you play with linked? cuz i could find all your aka's if i searched for them cuz their all connected either via ip or cd key? altho the cd key wouldnt make sense since me and my brother have differnet cd keys yet our accts are linked

Yes, there is always a way to find account's, In New Zealand everyone has a Dynamic ip's its just standard. Youll never get the same ip if you plug pull your modem, And you will always get a fresh one.
As for the banning thing, You are right i cannot be banned , Only by cd key etc..
But in saying that, I never do anything that would result in me needing to be banned.
If you search and find more names link to my account most of them are my younger brothers as im his guardian and he lives with me.

just to clarify i wasnt accusing you of anything.
but
why wouldnt everyone who mh's just set up a dynamic ip then? if they run no risk of actually being banned?

Re: differnt elo
Both same ip and cd key. Different realms.
Dynamic ip's is New Zealand are standard. Im not sure how it works in other country's but i think they only provide static ip address and if you want it changed you have to go through the hassle of ringing your isp and then its not 100% they will give you another one anyways.

Re: differnt elo
well it really has nothing to do with you ISP. every one can easily set up a static IP but generally its defaulted to a Dynamic IP. if they didnt default dynamic then if you turn off your computer you could possibly never be able to connect to the internet again. When you turn off or unplug your modem even in NZ. your current IP becomes "vacant" meaning someone else could turn their computer or modem on while yours is off. if that happens. and you have a static ip then you wont be able to connect because the IP you would be trying to use would be taken. happens all the time actually. if you have a dynamic IP it will change the last digits to the next available integer automatically for you if the IP you had happens to be taken. otherwise it will stay the same.
*edit*
at least as far as i know. it could be different in other places lol. not gonna pretend to be a know all lol

Re: differnt elo
It's not like that matters much anyways, if someone changes their IP and continue maphacking or being an a$$, they will get caught and banned again.
In relation to this prospect, I don't think it would work. Because of dynamic IP issues, Internet Café issues, roommate issues. You are responsible for everyone on your IP in terms of hacking (make sure no one on your IP hacks or you'll beat them), but you shouldn't be held down to their stats. Hacking you can control, them just plain sucking you can't

Re: differnt elo
Mine been Dynamic means it changes as soon as i pull plug and it will never go back to the same on, Just how it works in NZ.
But yes we have gone off topic. I dont think it is the best idea , You might have two account on your ip and one is the first one you learnt to dota on say about 700 elo bad k/d and w/l , But now your good enough you made a new one and your 1500 elo good k/d w/l. That might be a bad example but im sure if it was me i wouldnt want them to be averaged out together.

The chances of your old ip getting taken by someone that also plays WC3 in your area is very slim. But if it' happens then you must just be unlucky.

Actually, it's not just how it works for NZ, it's how it generally works for all dynamic ips. Or maybe i'm wrong :/
