Hey,
I'm B4rt0, 22 yo from Poland studying Computer Science.
I've been around Island Defense at least since 2009, after a friend of mine introduced me to the game.
At that time Maize, who you might now as an owner of Make Me Host, had his own hosting bot dedicated solely to purpose of hosting Island Defense game and MBoT clan accompanied with idbot.de forum which was quite popular among ID community, so I quickly joined in. I wasn't good player at all, but I helped to manage the forum, because I had some knowledge of forums scripts and frontend. I have a lot of good memories from that time.
Off topic:
I believe it was early 2010 that Maize came up with the idea of Make Me Host and shown me very early version (it was a page that was made of text only and there was only one bot at that time, not even queue was implemented). I gladly offered my help to make frontend for it, you could call it the visual part of the page. I think that this is the very first version of the MMH frontend made by me:

Due to huge interest Maize had to add queue, so that it would be more fair (a that time the one who hit "Host it" button when bot was free would have his game hosted). Later more bots were added and I made current Make Me Host theme based on Joomla theme (for some period of time we were using Joomla, but it generated huge load on the server and we weren't actually using its features, so we changed it to basic PHP page, not using any CMS which relieved server greatly). Ofc along the way there were other small and big improvements that I don't remember now. After MMH reached more stable state, about 2 or 3 years ago I retired from position of MMH webmaster due to lack of time and my serious case of laziness.
LOL, it turned out to be a story about MMH, not my introduction, but it would be a waste to remove it now, don't you think?
I still play ID from time to time, often accompanied by months of absence, then I come back and play like mad for short periods of time.
Good job if you reached the end of this lengthy introduction.
