Why isn't it bannable to go merc? It is literally the best builder in the game. It seems like every game is against crossers that transition into merc.

Mercenary also has weaknesses and it's pretty much redundant when game reaches 20+ stage.

If you don't like merc, you can go play on 1200+ bot, it is forbidden there.

Incomers that switch to merc are really a problem in my opinion. It happens too often that they delay a 100% lost game to level 31. I would really appreciate a rule that would forbid merc for incomers in cross.

I totally agree mercenary in general should be banned. You have a bunch of noobs that cross on bots that arent 1200 and then go merc because they're noob. They will never play on 1200 because they have no skill besides crossing and merc. I think it is almost impossible to beat those players alone on ent18

@HealByColor Many times I played on ENT18 and killed merc cross combo I think people just need to know the game better I mean honestly merc solo or merc cross is not impossible to kill if the team started out correctly

Both teams can merc, so I do not see the issue here.
Merc is pretty imba race for holding 1-20. But, it does have its weaknesses.
Cross+merc is certainly gay, but not impossible to win against.
If you want to play games without ever seeing merc, play the 1200+ bot.
If we do decide to switch to brouder's map, there wont be merc race.

The issue is getting the 1200 Elo by going merc or having to play a good bit of games because every other game this happens. This strat takes litteraly no skill. @nabo. I agree just go 1200 is easiest simple fix for this but not the right fix

Just because all players have the option to do something doesn't inherently make it right. As an extreme example following that logic, since all players have the option to download and use maphacks, there is no issue with maphacks.

Imagine a version of chess where you can choose to start with an extra queen. Sure, it is possible to beat if you choose to start with one queen, but that really isn't the point. The point is that if you don't start with two you will often lose to players who are objectively worse than you.

If he is the best, play him. I have seen+played many games where merc lose, so your assumption is not always correct. Win games and play the 1200 bot. Whether you have friends or not is a personal concern. 1200 bot has 1000 games per week whereas ent18 has 3000. Join lihl and play the 1200 bot if you want higher lvl of gaming. Check out the ltd rmk developer forum and support brouder's map if you dont wanna see merc again.

nabo I don't think you know what hyperbole is... How does the fact that mh isn't part of wc3 show that my point isn't valid? The developers' intent for wc3 has nothing to do with "If all players have access to an advantage, then the advantage is fair" being a poor game design philosophy.

Fine. Let me ask this. Why is it not allowed on the 1200 bot and is on the non 1200+ bot? Why does the difference between the two bots even exist?

The idea of merc wasnt bad. Only when saving was introduced to the meta did it suddenly become massively imba.
Merc really should be banned as only elo whores use it as it is definitely imba.
