I'll come to the one after the next weekend. As usual I will attempt to lure some other euros as well.

ihs should be in 3.0.9d until the current version is out of beta.

It makes no sense for an ID clan to not play the latest map zzzz

It makes perfect sense in an in-house. In-houses should be played in a just competetive environment. There is no justice in playing a map in alpha/beta phase where the game lacks balance.

Imagine how crazy it would be if Valve would release a new version of DotA 2 now 1 week before the largest DotA 2 tournament of the year and force players to compete in it.

They released a new version of Dota 2 during the 2013 International. They did it during the JoinDota tournament as well.... :D

And that doesn't matter.

What @Burn decides to do with his inhouse games, is his own business. If you want him to host 3.0.9d instead, talk to him and justify it.

The majority of people who play inhouse have been happy playing the latest version for the past 3 months since it started. I don't see any reason why it should change now 1 person decides there on a hate spree for all new maps.

I suggested it openly in this thread to let the community discuss it. I already suggested it to burn in the ihs yesterday. He thought a vote would be appropriate but since the chat is constantly spammed you can't have a proper vote and people are generally pretty impatient to wait for a vote. Discussing it here removes the hassle of having a time wasting last minute vote. If there is a consensus on the forums that 3.0.9d should be played in ihs until 4.0 is released out of alpha, skilled players will be more likely to show up since they rather play a balanced version of the game.

With the proper rules 3.0.9d is balanced enough. Since we are discussing playing it in an ih the players should following the rules that are agreed upon.

Poll is useless since the majority of the people voting won't even play.

This is the simple version - Going backwards in versions is not going to help players in a ID clan get better. It's not going to promote good game play because most of the clan are active playing the current version. What's the point in us all being in a ID clan which is supposed to be players that play Id currently and then go back and play old versions when we want to play our best. It's just redundant. Ih's used to be there for the clan to have skilled games with skilled players. Making people play a version that no longer is hosted on anything other than private games just seems silly. Clan members should learn to be better under the latest constraints of the game. If there's a problem with a specific builder then place a constraint. For example we already don't allow multiple baser's in 1 base because it's naturally OP. If we went back to 3.0.9d we would probably end up banning Dran for example because it was indeed completely broken. Likewise you can do things like duping tomes. BTI has to move forward alongside ID. We can't simply fade into the past and be stuck in our ways. That doesn't promote good gameplay.

Off topic: @Lynx It's hardly personal.... It's the equivalent of you saying I love the new versions. It's the opinion you have expressed countless times through voting to remove 4.0.0 beta from bots completely to now wanting ih on 3.0.9d. I don't see how that's personal bullshit. It's just relevant. I don't see why people feel the need to act as though I'm slandering them for simply including their own opinions in a post.

The people playing in the ih should've played more 3.0.9d games than 4.0 games. So their skill in the version shouldn't matter except for a few hotkey kinks in the first 5 minutes. Lets not argue on game balance between the two versions since 3.0.9d is obviously more balanced than the current 4.0 balance from an ih perspective, and if you say otherwise i assume you don't know what you are talking about.

The point of playing inhouses is mainly to have quality competetive games that differentiates from the normal games on the bot. The skill improvement is a minor purpose of the ihs tbh and even if it was a major one, you improve just as much playing either version since everything is basically the same except some number tweaks.

I like 4.0. I dislike its balance. Next update from neco will be nice.

People would gladly play 3.0.9d I.F. the hotkeys were not different. We used to host 2.8.5c occasionally and it was fine because the hotkeys were the same. Main reason why is hotkeys.

People can change hotkeys with warkeys if they want to change them imo
