Suggestions to improve LIHL

Postby Miyagi » Sat Aug 22, 2015 6:55 pm

Processed Cases

Rename Processed Cases to "Report a player" and make it private. There is no need to publicize reports, it only creates needless drama that can be otherwise avoided.

Disconnection & GProxy

Gproxy should be mandatory, LIHL is plagued by lots of disconnections, resulting in games being drawn. I've come across a few instances where people don't even have GProxy on. Gproxy should be mandatory to weed out the amount of disconnections this league comes across.

If the community has anything else to suggest, then please do voice your opinion and idea's in this thread.

about ''disconnection & gproxy'' im total agree,i suggest to apply a ban for everyone who does not use gproxy (like 6 hours) + dc pen.
anyway i not agree with ''processed cases''
Do not try to argue with an idiot. First takes you to his level, then he beat you with experience.

i have to say that i totally disagree with mandatory Gproxy, for two reasons 1) i can't use Gproxy where i play. 2) the only dc's i have are either fatal error, or total internet loss, or total power out, 3 dc's that Gproxy can't stop anyway...

And what is the reason on why you can't use gproxy?

Maybe because people may play from places where they are unable to install software or bypass firewall etc.

The real problem about no gproxy on people is that they actually have gproxy but ilo proxy was giving issues and it doesnt work. I dont know if its fixed but i changed it, havnet try if the new one works yet.

Well LIHL should make requirements, the amount of times Gproxy has reconnected somebody into the game is too high of an advantage to not have it mandatory. If you are playing from public places, then tough cookie really.. It's not like Dong has made an impact in the league with his high activity this season.

I do understand some of the implications people may have, but this is a league after all and it should require higher standards.

Good morning.

I think this thread is a good chance to discuss about lihl and how to improve it, so i will present some ideas.

The lihl community is our biggest Problem atm. It´s not about reporting somebody in what way ever or some funny trashtalk, it´s about an atmosphere that make it hard to enjoy a game in my freetime. We have to IMPROVE our COMMUNITY. I was part of many online communitys like wow-gilden etc, but i have never seen such a toxic community. We all want to play legion td on a higher lvl and trust other player in the way how they play so we can create a usefull team strategy, without drama, !ignor and so on. But sadly most of the game players flame each other about fails, game strategy.

Sadly there is not one rules or suggestion, which solves all problems but small steps could lead us to a solution.

Gproxy: Should be mandatory, but kicking player like dong just because he can´t install it doesn´t sound fair to me. I suggest do make it mandatory and and give our member an "excuse-option", so they can write our mods why they can´t install it. If a player disc without gproxy and without excuse (which he did before the game in our forum) they should gain a harder punishment.

Ignor and trashtalk: my suggestion is to ban !ignor player in your team. if 2 or more player ignor each other it´s very disturbing for other teammember and drasticly reduce the chance to win. Every player(we adults !) should be in the position to only communicate about the actuall game. So before wave 1 starts the player who normally ignor each other should accept they only talk about game strategy and stop flaming for 30m.

Low skilled lihl player, teamkiller, new vouched, unvouche player XY : There always will be player on !top and !bot and starting an unvoche thread or flaming somebody doesn´t help this player. I prefer playing in an active community and the task of experience player should be help other players as a tutor to get used to lihl playstyle.
I suggest a tutor system for new vouched(mandatory) and other player(voluntarily) who want to improve. Most new players are willing to listen, many other players willing to help. That could happend ingame but also at the forum. After the trial periode every new player should get a neutral, constructive community feedback. Player like beep, ilocos, diablo_ or others..just for example are respect, high skilled and perfect for the job.
So next time our mods get some pm/or a forum post about unvouche xy, they can decide if this players needs some help and assign a mentor for him.

I agree. Gproxy should be mandatory - people who don't meet the requirements to install it should not play because its an impertinence for the ones who are forced to draw. If disconnections happened only sporadically, then this discussion would be obsolete. But obviously this is not the case - the current quantity of disconnections is simply striking.

voted no. sometimes people without dc proxy disconnect 1/100 games, no need to use proxy.

i have no idea how this even came up, i mean, i am one of the players that can't use Gproxy, and you know what, it doesn't bother me really.
in all my time in lihl i can't remember number of seasons, as far as i can recall, i have 2 maybe 3 dc's TOTAL.

all the players i see dc atm, are players with Gproxy, that still dc's cause exceeded lagging time, or just shitty network... or maybe even PP(who knows)

but like i said, if i ever get a dc, it will be a dc that Gproxy can not recover, so i do not get the idea behind this suggested rule ?, i don't see, how this helps LIHL in any way tbh.

You don't see how Gproxy, a utility that reconnects people back into the game if they get disconnected, will help LIHL in any way?

Sure, Gproxy cant recover from power outages, or full network failure. But it can recover from unintentional lag spikes, short network failure, etc.. It allows people more time to fix their network than the standard permitted time.

All I see is benefits and 0 disadvantages to using Gproxy, even I have recovered back into the game with Gproxy on a few occasions, and I consider my internet to be very good most of the time.
