DC PENALTY RULE SEASON 11 VOTE

Too much complaint about this disconnect rule. I vote we simply remove it all together for now this season until we implement a more accommodable rule and just have no set rule for dc and just hope there is enough integrity in the league not to PP. If however, there is too much dc against one person, there can be a forum post about that specific person accused too many times of dc(pp) and it can be handled accordingly case by case.

If the dc rule should stay in place, i vote we agree upon a Gentlemen's Agreement of what i call a "No Rush Rule"
No Dc can be reported until after at least 10-15 minutes.(time frame can be decided by mods)

Leave the rule how it is, but do not apply dc pens for those that drop during countdown. As I have said in a few other posts too, I do not like the idea of omitting those that dc in the early game, as this can start a trend of PPers for bad rolls or dislike of teammates.

Well @king23 as their are so many hypocrites talking about manners and behavior of late, we should at least try to give the league the benefit of the doubt for a trial period and if it gets out of hand, those people will be dealt with accordingly and if it gets so bad, then they just ruin it for everybody and we must return to the original rule or at least the gentlemen's no rush rule i suggested.

Exactly.
People would never again dodge, but just start the game and "dc" in the first minutes, without any penalty ...
And a poll about this is quite useless imo, since people which dc often will obviously pick "remove it" to not get penaltys anymore.

People can abuse it to pp when they gonna lose, and gain even more elo ... And mick can keep abusing it to "dc" when u come online and start a game with u

First, its interesting that shrimps the one making this topic.

Second, I criticized in the past that dc penalties will skew one's stats and that disconnection penalties dont reflect one's skill or win rating.....and now that someone reports often, people have a problem? I remember @godlik3 posting topics demanding for his +ve 3-5 elos for his time...I guess victor could not think far enough that he would get more -elo than +elo in the end ey?

The good part about dc penalty is that if you dc, you will face similar consequences as when you lose (-18 elo). This minimizes or prevents the chances of plug pulling.

The current topics seem to be that 1) stats are skewed for certain individuals 2) argument that those who dc during load screen or early game should not receive dc penalty.

Let me ask though, if someone disconnects during load screen, how will we differentiate this from those who are plug pulling to dodge a game?
Is giving the benefit of the doubt until more than one instance of "disconnection" during load screen happens a fair judgement?

We can either:
1) DC = -ve elo always; others dont get +ve elo for their time.
2) DC = -ve elo excluding load dc cases; others dont get +ve elo for their time.
3) DC = -ve elo; others get +ve elo only if game goes past lvl 10.

Current dc rule is pretty well, 99% players using it with manners and behaviors; only matter is the 1% using it to greed elo..

I like our current rule, as long as people have some morale and use it in a mannered way. It worked perfectly fine for 8 or 9 seasons after all.

As I posted in the other thread, I think giving elo to players for "their time" is just pointless seeing as how 5 minutes or 30 minutes of your time still = the same amount of elo, and whether the DC saved you from winning or losing whatever you gain is not fair in terms of being a representative of your skill. I think donki is right that only a few people abuse it and the best way to limit this abuse (remove the incentive to mass report inconsequential dc's) would be to remove the elo gain for players "time". Occasional dc's should be expected and players should not be whining about 3 elo compensation.

this is also a good suggestion. just remove the +elo, i dont go out of my way to make sure dc'ers lose -20/21, all i cared about was +elo, hence i would never report a player again if it wasnt to my advantage in the rankings. but as i said in the other topic, i will no longer report anybody anyways since its such a HUGE ordeal. so technically if its all the same to anybody else this topic can be voided out since im really the only one who reports dc's, which will no longer be a problem.

i think maybe one of the best suggestions ive heard was from @supersexyy to make the dc pen automated and that you have to appeal if you want your elo back with a solid apology, obviously the more dc's in a season the less likely you are to have your appeal approved.

Bad idea that appeal thing, how can u prove a powercut, bluescreen ect...
Actual system is pretty good, only thing we can add is no dc pen for someone dropping before mode is taken , if the game is rehosted with same teams, to avoid ppl dodging if we do no dc pen .
