[LOD] Banable builds

Hello.

Recently, or rather always, there have been a lot of different opinions in the community of LoD, on which builds are banable and not.

I'd recommend that you make a section on the wiki, or a sticky post on the forums, where you have all the glitchy builds which is pickable listed. This way we have a way to know which builds are banable, and wont pick them. Also, we have a way of proving that a build is indeed banable.

The list needs to be updated for every version of the map.

I suggest putting it under either:

imo:
1. using death pact to eat a tombstone zombie (reason:gives you about 3000 damage and map maker already fixing this for next patch)
2. rearm + flame guard (you can kill someone in one second just by standing on them invis; map maker trying to fix this as well as noted in patch notes)

Generally, when playing, use only strategies that were intentional by the map makers; do not exploit any aspect of the map that was not intended to be included.

The point about this suggestion is to make it easier to refer to the rules.

If we look at the big picture, how are one supposed to know exactly what the map maker intended to be fair?

I.e. rearm roots? One can argue that it is "overpowered", but others argue that it is countered with quelling blade.

Lod map gets updated pretty frequently. Considering there are new glitches and glitch fixes every patch, the general rule which states that exploiting and abusing game glitches is bannable should be enough.

As for "op" builds and combos, LoD was never meant to be balanced.

If you wish to make a list of glitches, do post your list and we will consider adding it as a note on our rule page.

No. If rearm + flame guard is considered a glitch, then very many combos could be considered a glitch.

In my opinion that is simply an OP build. It can be countered by blademail and bkb (among others). However people still get banned for using it, ref https://entgaming.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... ed#p281583.

Then I would consider rearm root a glitch aswell. You can actually cover the whole map with spirits, and make the other team unable to move out of their base.

So that brings me back to my initial post, there should definitely be more precise guidelines on what's bannable.

I stated the only two that can be considered a glitch unless you know more. Rearm roots was fixed this patch as far as I know. If you still cant move at all even to chop down trees post about it.

I've only seen it once during this patch, but that time you could not move to chop down the trees. You simply got rooted over and over, until you died. Not sure what was "fixed" this patch though. As said, I dont know if this is how the map maper intended that the combo should work, or if it still is glitched.

You do not understand what a glitch is versus op combo due to map imbalance. If you want to complain about imbalances, go on lod map maker's forum and post a topic. They are active and listen.

Afaik flameguard is a glitch because the armor stacks or lasts longer than it should. The root from roof skill is only countered if you have tree chopping hero skills or if you prevent him from going around planting seeds everywhere (gotta gank often or push faster or ward good).

If you do not like op builds, do not play dota lod and play real dota. Or, we can change the game mode. If you arent gonna provide me a list of all glitch in this version, we wont be putting a list.

I'd say ban the three combos that are discussed here unless someone can provide proof that rearm roots is indeed fixed by the ease of chopping the tree down. In last patch I know you couldnt move even to get to the tree to chop it down and even if you did the next tree grabbed you and you dead. I know on the other gaming sites they do provide a list of skills that are currently banned because of glitch abuse. I suggest we do the same with these and post them on wiki and in map marquee.

1. no rearm + flame guard.
2. no death-pacting tombstone zombies.
3. no rearm + roots.

Seems so me, we are having a healthy discussion right now, which seems to be needed, as there are many different opinions floating around. I've never complained about op builds, there are plenty of those around. This is about what's glitched or not. It's not enough that one person states a point, without listening to the community. Even though I think it's glitched, doesn't neccessary mean it is. Hence the discussion.

It was not about opinions, but wat was considered actually a glitch or not...sigh
one or hundred opinions dont matter when a glitch is a glitch. Further discussion can be continued on the dota forum thread u made.
