Wintermaul One Rule

Postby Jabba41 » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:14 pm

Just wanted to get a rule added for Wintermaul One.

I saw it happen lately a few times that players:

1. Build at teammates lines to steal creeps within their maze
2. Build at a teammates line to steal creeps right at their spawn (some towers are easily capable of it, like the 100g of the tank builder)
3. Steal leaks that would teleport to another players line by building in front of the teleport point.

I suggest
Do not build at another players area without his agreement to do so.

Some players actually help each other and share auras and all so it should be allowed.
WMO isnt supposed to be played with stealing kills, the new versions even were updated to reduce kill stealing due to high ranged towers.

There's an active -destroy command in WM1 that'll destroy any allied structures on your lane. I feel like instead of enforcing this, just remind everyone -destroy is a valid substitute.

This one I'm more in agree with. I've seen this happen (not often, but still witnessed) where some guys get greedy and don't allow the next player in line to get the leaked units.

Currently, there's a public announcement up on WM1 that enforces the gold glitch which was a known bug in v5c but since then, lightningzlazer has patched it in the v6 and so I suggest having the announcement changed to:

Reminder: You can use the -destroy command to prevent any allied structures from being on your lane.

@Av1on Yes but sometimes its just a few seconds from building -> Kill stealing -> selling.
So i would still enforce such a rule.

But the announcement would be pretty good too, right.

Tbh I think the -destroy is all that is needed.

If somebody keeps during sure then it should count towards harassing.

As far as denying the next person leaks, I don't see why they have a greater claim to leaks than the player has to not leaking.
Imo rules should be geared to keeping people in the game.

Since -destroy is a public command, why do we need to announce it?

What happens to the leaks if player B doesn't steal them from player A?

Many people dont know this and just start to flame the usual "sell it [insult]" stuff.

Usually player A leaks to B, B to C, C to D, D (last one) to A.

Initially, the enforcement in question is just to prevent stealing kills. That's it. I'm not gonna lie, in my countless wintermaul one games, I've only seen a case like this once or twice. I've rarely seen the -destroy command used in that process.

@aRt)Y Not many people are familiar with the command itself, by announcing it publicly, it'll be more known as an option should someone be falling victim to this rather then retaliation or reporting.

In addition to them going to the start of player B's they also decrease the number of lives player A has which is why people sometimes like for others to catch them.

They might have a few difficult levels before they can afford a good tower and the holding keeps their life count up.

So player A's leaks would go to B anyway? Or are we talking about not actually (yet) leaked kills?

We talk about actually not leaked creeps, so blatant kill steal.
And we talk about leak from A which get stolen by C as he build in the area of A shortly before the teleport to B. :)

Units killed before leaking don't take away lives and the leaks go circular so Player0->Player1->Player2->...->Player8->Player0.

Anybody can build in your area (but as mentioned you can -destroy their stuff) and their stuff attacks creeps only. So Player8 can build in Player0's area and catch leaks for them (he can also build in front of Player0 so that he weakens stuff for Player0 to finish)

WM is also a PvE game and there should be no expectation of getting anybody's leaks.

Rule: "Dont steal kills which haven't leaked to you, yet."
Info: Use -destroy blah

That's fine?
