Game Name: [ENT] DotA apem us/ca #28
Your Warcraft III Username: homo-sapien
Violator's Warcraft III Username: baratko
Violated Rule(s): Glitch abuse - used chicken to detonate mines. Also votekick abuse.
Time of Violation (in-game or replay): Throughout game courier roaming to set off mines. Some particular times - 1:52, 2:45, 8:50, 12:44, 20:49, 25:12. Votekick abuse against perfectly fine player axe at 20:44.
Any further thoughts: He was told several times that using courier to detonate mines is bannable yet he continued. He responded with things such as "stfu kiddo,"

1 votekick that dosen't come close to passing isn't vk abuse.
i'm 15 minutes into the game and i have yet to see a courier run over a mine. did you make up these timestamps? @mael

@niceguy (02:04 / All) Wrecktify: if you hit mines with a courier, i will ban you for a week
this is very close to admin impersonation. this is a warning

Re: [DOTA] [baratko@uswest.battle.net]
He is using the courier to try and set off mines. Not my problem if he can't always find them, but he definitely keeps using it throughout game to set off mines. I don't know why you don't have a game announcement saying this is illegal. I am going to be posting 2 more requests today for identical glitching that occurred last evening.
Re: Wrecktify - that isn't even close to admin impersonation, get real. People constantly spam that kind of thing. He isn't claiming to be a mod and no one asked him if he was. He will ban him for a week as he will be the means to the end. Don't be so angry because you constantly dodge us cause you are bad at dota.

One more thought - if that is admin impersonation I am going to constantly ban request anytime someone says something similar to that. It actually happened in 2 of our games last night.

@nabo
Nabo, could I please get some rule clarification here re admin impersonation. I always say "I'm going to ban you" because the game is in real time and I don't want to waste time typing out the more precise "I'm going to post a ban request, which I'm confident will be approved." I don't think it's realistic anyone would think I'm an admin based on this phrasing, and I don't think it's fair to require anything different. I have literally always used this phrasing because it's faster, and I've never been ban requested for it. Maybe once or twice someone has asked if I'm an admin, and I say "no."
Thanks for any clarification.

Re: [DOTA] [baratko@uswest.battle.net]
@niceguy I don't want to debate phrasing with you however saying "I will ban you" sounds like you, personally, have the ability to ban someone, does it not? You didn't say "I will post a request" or "you will be banned". Either way, it's a grey area, which is exactly why a warning was issued, and not a ban.
Anyway, @mael unless he actually trips the mines with the courier, then he hasn't done anything except run his courier around the map. If you have time stamps of when he actually trips mines, as I've already requested, please post those time stamps

What do you mean you don't want to debate phrasing? You issued me a warning over phrasing. So let's discuss it.
When I see "warning" it usually means that someone has violated a rule and next time will get a ban for it. If that's not what you meant, please let me know. Issuing a warning for a "grey area" isn't helpful. If your view is that the phrasing is over the line, I need to know. Either way, I disagree with your assessment that it's even close to the line, which is why I sought a second opinion. I've used that phrasing literally hundreds of times and never once had someone complain that they thought i was saying I was an admin. The small handful of times someone has ASKED if I'm an admin, I've said no. I have over 1000 games on this ID (including non-dota games), and how many ban requests have you seen against wrecktify (for this rule or any other)? Seems like the experience speaks for itself. If people were confused, you would see a large number of ban requests regarding this phrasing.
I actually agree that "I'm going to ban you" sounds like I'm saying I have the ability to personally ban someone. I do, by posting an accurate ban request, which in my opinion is certain to be approved (as this one will be - I will post the times if Mael does not).

Re: [DOTA] [baratko@uswest.battle.net]
running the chicken around looking for mines is just as bad. If it isn't delivering items he is intentionally trying to glitch.
Re: [DOTA] [baratko@uswest.battle.net]
Stomped why are you so angry? You really seem to have some issues going on with straight forward things. Chill bro...

Re: [DOTA] [baratko@uswest.battle.net]
You dont have to find mines to be guilty of exploiting the glitch. Knowledge of absence of mines is just as valuable.
both ethics and baratko banned 5 days for glitch exploit.
