Yeah, so if you know me you know I don't really give a fuck about elo. But when you have 1500 games played and you're still at 1100 people start talking a lot of shit, which is why I quit playing titan on my main a couple months ago. So I started watching ELO and watching games, and over time I have noticed a few trends.

Builders ELO is fairly static, where they tend to lose/gain elo in small, nonsignificant amounts, where basically if you win more games than you lose, your elo will go up. I never notice builders losing a significant amount of ELO in a game, even if it is a stacked lobby vs a noob titan. I also never notice builders gain a significant amount of ELO, say if its an experienced titan vs a noob lobby. But I don't think builders have anything to complain about when it comes to ELO.

As titan, ELO is a whole new fucked up ballgame. The reason so many people do not titan on their mains, is because if you have above 1200 elo and you lose a game, you lose 25 elo. You literally lose what is about 20 builder wins in one loss as titan. But if you win?

I know this lobby had bad stats and was shit, which is why they lost .3 elo. But the story is the same: Titans who lose, miss out on 20-25 elo, titans who win get 1-3.

I believe (I'm too drunk and too lazy to look up the thread that Lynx made about elo, in a different section of the forum that i cannot recall) that neco responded Elo was working when asked. Well, everyone knows it isn't working. No one who gives even half a rats ass about elo will not titan on their mains (unless their name is fishy_joes). the -25 elo risk is not worth the garbage rewards.

Why do high elo builders not get punished for losing to low elo Titans? Why do higher elo Titans gain nothing form winning even vs. stacked lobbies?

I honestly do not know why an arbitrary scoreboard that everyone is so obsessed with does not get more bitching on these forums, so I thought I would bring it up. /discuss

All the map does is report wins and losses, and that works Most Of The Time™.

ELO calculations themselves are up to ENT.

ELO is the hardest it's ever been in a while. You get around 1 elo every win, and -3 elo every loss, even as builder at 2k elo.

Titaning is good until around 1200 like you said, then it's just a grind and builder stacking until 2k.

Source: Someone who has two 2k accounts and one 2.3k account.

I remember beek(2k+ elo) winning as titan against a stacked lobby of like 1600+ avg, with multiple 2k+ elo players builders, and got literally +0.10 for it. op gainz

Yeah, there are also times where you get those occasional buggy ass games where you get like 4-5 elo per game against low elo titans.

Thing is, we used to get like +16 elo bugs instead of +5 elo, so in that case my point still stands, this era of elo farming is the worst in history.

Quick guide on how to fix elo:
1. Reset everyone's elo

Optional:
2. Delete the current paralympic elo calculations
3. Builder win = +10, Builder loss = -10, Titan win = +30, Titan loss = -30

Optional #2:
4. Reset elo every 4 months for competitive leaderboards

If that happened, there would be so much titan spamming though, it could kill ID. Titan gains are fine atm imo.

There should be something to counter smurf titaning, like ELO by IP, or a big *SMURF* next to their name on ENT game list.

Community that survives the titan spamming means builders will adjust and get better.

However, ID community is full of new players, who wouldn't want to play with good titans stomping them. An easy way to clear lobbies is to titan in every single one when US players are asleep.

Part of what makes ID fun is messing around with bad titans, wall walking and juking. Good titans ruin the fun with early minions and stomping.

You know ENT pretty much follows your lead when it comes to ID. If you've (or anyone else) a better formula for ELO calculation bot-sided, please present it.

That's a lot!!! I titan'd back when my account had ~2.5k elo. When I won a titan game I literally got +0.0 elo or -30.0 elo if I lost. But then again 3.0.9d was so ez as tit I didn't care.
