Who is your favorite carry?

Postby BurritoCarcass » Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:30 pm

I have been fooling around with the definition of carry, but i have recently been very fond of void. I usually avoid using those OP heroes, but I ransomed him for the first time and I really enjoyed him.

Funnest Carry to play: Invoker, meepo, and tinker (Properly)
Favorite Carry: Morph, Alch, leoric
Actual best carry in game: Tresdin (If not why is he not available in CM)

situationally awesome but both heroes, if maintaining a gold equilibrium with another carry hero, will most likely lose in a fight (vs. someone like AM/void/morph/etc) and neither one offers the disable or the mobility to to tackle heroes they cannot fight 1 on 1. But i know you're good on clinkz  so there is some bias there! btw who is your favorite clinkz player? I've only seen mouz.black and some SEA ppl dominate with clinkz.

you played most during .48b im guessing?? before alch faded from view  Tresdin is not competitive for a variety of reasons. Although he lanes very well for a melee hero his problem lies with his low impact rate and poor mobility e.g. not performing as well as other carries in teamfights.
Cons:
Aoe is almost negligble
Duel usable only once per fight
no anti-disable abilities
no movement-based abilities
melee-range single target disable (if you get disabled during duel then ur ulti is basically just a longer duration dk stun)

I feel like he is a great beginning carry offering great potential to snowball, however in a competitive environment where forcestaff/ghost/stuns/slows/silences are prevalent and used wisely, it is very easy to dodge a tresdin whose only recourse of action is to charge straight at you. One might argue that many other melee carries have the same problem, however someone like SK tanks more so it takes twice as long/twice as many resources to kite him - ontop of him having a ranged stun so he can get up to someone who runs away.

The reason why certain heroes are not in the competitive pool is because Icefrog either believes they are OP or he is afraid of disturbing the competitive scene. For example rootfellen which was released into CM mode after being disallowed like tresdin, has not been picked much and also does not offer a high win % or useful role in many teams.

tl:dr i love dota?
