Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
Hey,
Since the public LTD tournament was (imo) a big success, I thought it might be worth a try to do the same thing separately for the LIHL community (of course less teams and hence less rounds). What do you think about it and is it technically feasible?
Cheers, Psy

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
Well I think it would be 4s since thats the standard format (and many ppl dislike 2s and 3s). About the system idk, open for anything. And yes, prize money isn't really needed.

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
I enjoyed the tournament a lot, especially cause I have most fun in 4s. And as tin pointed out, 4s might be a small tourney within lihl.
But I don't particularly feel the urge to have a lihl-only tourney. I'd rather have a public 4s tourney again. more competition, winner/loser bracket for better chances of some (bad) luck on rolls, just more time to participate.
The price money however is the dealbreaker maybe. Idc at all for it, but for more frequent tourneys it might be hard for ENT to tender prizes every time. And without any prizes, people might stay away. Would be interesting to find out the interest and attendence of a public tourney even with no prize money.
Bottom line: I prefer public tourney, but ofc would participate and have fun in lihl tourney.

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
If there were to be many tournaments, it must be public. If it's occasionally and lihl-only, ENT can still pay out prizes. Anyway, as long as I know how many tourneys are scheduled, I can plan the resources.Kreutertee wrote:I enjoyed the tournament a lot, especially cause I have most fun in 4s. Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
Cash prizes are nice but not mandatory, people dont play the tourneys for the prize imo, tourneys are more exciting than regular games and that is the draw. By all means cash prizes are welcome, but if that holds back the amount of tourneys that are possible to host, I'd say people would be happy enough with a small token for winning, spoof etc...

Making it a 3s-tourney would me pretty nice ^^
More teams possible and not always the same 4s

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
I don't think there was enough feedback to make this tournament happen..
Archiving this; if people decide they want to re-introduce the idea, we can bring it back into the discussion.

Re: Suggestion: LIHL Tournament
To clarify a bit: everyone can host tournaments if they wish and we will support it as good as we can (announcements, maybe ENT throwing prize money in etc.)
What is most important though is having someone to organize it
If someone feels like doing so you can always pm us.

What responsibilities are involved in creating a tourney?
Are there dedicated bots? What do you get access to?
