Lihl or league of laggers?

Postby ArMeDaNdDeAdLy » Sat Oct 01, 2016 5:37 pm

Why everyone in this league is lagging and ruining the games? I played pub dota and i see less dcs than lihl how is that possible? i played 9 games to the end this season 3 of them people massively lagging. So out of the 15 games in total that i played, 6 were drawn cause someone lagged out (3 were on the verge). I want a reasonable explaination why are people so massively lagging in an inhouse league and how so the dc rate is bigger than pubs?

Should ask why none of them have GProxy, instead.

ENT can't help one's internet connection.

Many had and still dced.Maybe the rules should get stricter cause sometimes the "dc" seems intentional?
Food for thought.

Out of the 6 replays you provided, only dafuker had GProxy. However, GProxy seem to have done its job as it kept him alive for 180 seconds, upon which he did not reconnect to internet / game.

Regarding the rules, you'll have to discuss with your league moderators.

Lastly, I believe there was a topic about making GProxy mandatory, might want to bring that back.

If all DC's are reported, people are more inclined to fix their problems than if you don't. You show us 6 games where people lagged out, but you reported none of them. If it bugs you so much, report them and we can penalize it, it's the only way to reduce it.

If you don't want a solution, then deal with disconnects. I am going to process this if it's just a bunch of whining.

@Hazardous I was told by hug that when he was running DIHL, they were given brand new bots that had no problems like some of the ones we are currently experiencing. Is there anyway we could do so for LIHL? I think the bots could use a replacement; the lag and d/c's that occur points more to their problems rather than the community's. Would be interesting to find out if this would make a difference.

Some topics are beyond questionable.

There are clear solutions to your problem which are known for ages. If people dont report or use gproxy, we cant help it. There's only so much we can do. Cant fix what isnt broken.

@Nore There's no such thing as "brand new" bots. Perhaps the hosting location was different. Other than that, there's no difference as any ghost is a casual ghost bot. But again, that's beyond the point if people would just make use of what's already in place.

Alright fair enough, maybe I misunderstood when he explained it to me. I just thought that the bots have been struggling, as I've seen many times the bots will randomly shut down mid-game, and even people with proxy get dropped sometimes(which is not their fault). Anyone without it is instantly kicked for good, as well. Other than that, proxy is definitely the most fool-proof solution we seem to have atm, so we can promote proxy more if it seems like this is a growing problem.

For my experience, it is not about Gproxy or no Gproxy, i experience more " game lagg " ( read send laggs etc.. ) on lihl than i do on pub bots, WITH the same players.. so something clearly is wrong. Can't blame it on Gproxy, since it is the lagg it self, that ruins the game, furb send 10 second after you click the command. I have never experienced that in pub, in all my gaming years.

There´s been quite some dcs, but one thing that annoys just as much is that people lag alot, for example lagging down a game but barely makes it on the max lag time during a full game, then next game they lag another 2 minutes(or whatever the max total time is) and dc, then next game they barely make it again, then dc, and still keeps on signing instead of trying to fix the lag problems.

I havent played alot of pubs last few years, but I kind of agree with Diablo on that one, those kind of delays on sending is something I have only seen in lihl. Does anyone know how this works? In some cases it seems like its all games for awhile, but in other situations in the past, it´s been like that when certain players are in the game(yes, I know some people say this is not the reason, but when there was no lag at all, unless 1 certain player joined game for several months time, and always lag with this player in game, its not a guess ,its a fact)
Maybe the most simple solution would be some kind of automatic dc pen system as its been talked about before? When someone dc alot and someone report them there will still be the history of dcs registred.

I only get problems with "send lag" on lihl bots.

its not the community.
its more probably the bots.
people who never lag have been lagging alot lately, for the entire timer on and off including me.
doesnt happen in ent18 and other pub bots, its maybe whats loaded on the lihl bot that affects it, like the extra overhead and so on.
idk how ghost works, only the admin can tell u.

"Varlock's original GProxy worked by sending empty actions between each real in-game action (for more information, read his original post). This has the following drawbacks:

Increased bandwidth usage and lag for non-GProxy players."

Maybe gprox causes this lags? Im never lagging and im using gproxy varlock
