Tool: LIHL Screenshot Tool

Hi.

Most of you have probably heard of this tool already and now it is time to introduce it into LIHL.
Starting with the next season (~31st of October) usage of this tool will be mandatory for screenshot tests. To make sure that everyone has downloaded the tool and knows how to use it (and to make sure it works for everyone) we have chosen a slightly drastic approach.

Everyone in LIHL (including all people that already tested previous versions) has about 7 days to download the tool and to use/test it one time. Everyone who doesn't do so will be unvouched when the new season starts, until they download and test the tool once.
I suggest not to wait until the last day in case you have any troubles/questions using it.

UPDATE 25th OCT: Ignore this tool for now until said otherwise. You don't have to download/use it for now. Google is making troubles atm which results in no mails being sent from the tool. I will see what can be done about it.


Short info about the tool:

Current version (is also shown in the tool): 1.0
It only works with Windows, if you are playing on a Linux system or on a Mac inform us because you won't be able to use it.

The intention of this tool is to make screenshot tests faster, easier and safer. No more waiting 10 minutes because people don't find their screenshot and no more people sending us manipulated screenshots to hide their maphack. Whenever we do screenshot tests all you will have to do is start this tool, press the print screen key on your keyboard and wait about 0.5-2 minutes until the screenshot has been automatically sent to us via email.
Besides the screenshot it will also send the account name you type into the tool and some information of what the tool does internally. It will never send screenshots of other programs or something, it only works with Warcraft 3.

The complete tool sadly has about 150 MB in size (the download is zipped and has 29 MB). This is caused because the programming language I have written the tool with wasn't optimal for this tool (It would have been easy to get a lot of information about how it works, also called reverse engineering, which might have allowed some sort of abusing.). To prevent this I had to use a professional software which more or less transforms the code of the tool into another format which is more secure and better suited for this purpose. As a side-effect the size increased from 4 MB to 150 MB, but nowadays 150 MB shouldn't be a big problem anyway. No installation is required btw, you just download it and can instantly run it.

So what you should now do is:
1) Download the tool here (64 bit version), no need to register: *removed for now*
2) Unzip it.
3) Leave the "rt" directory untouched, these are the extra files that were created by the "code transformation" and are required to run the tool.
4) "LIHL SS Tool.exe" is the tool.
5) Right click on it, go to "Properties" -> "Compatibility" and check the "run program as administrator" box.
6) Double click the tool to start it.
7) A graphical user interface will show up, enter your LIHL account name and press Ok.
8) Switch to Warcraft 3 (the order of what program you start first is irrelevant).
9) Press the "print screen" key on your keyboard.
10) Switch back to the tool, you should now see new text in the Event log ("Screenshot successfully created!", "Sending email ...").
11) After a short time (depending on your internet connection) the last sentence will show up "Email successfully sent!".
12) That's it, you are done, you can close the tool now.

Starting with the new season you will have to use this tool every time we do a screenshot test, that means instead of manually sending us the screenshot you just follow the steps 6-12 from the above list.

What to do if "nothing happens" and the sentences from 10) and 11) don't show up OR if it says that an "ERROR" occured?

Then you will need to run the tool in the debug mode. How to do it:
1) Right click on the "LIHL SS Tool.exe" file
2) Click "Create shortcut"
3) Right click on the "LIHL SS Tool.exe - shortcut" file
4) Click "Properties"
5) Go to the tab "Compatibility"
6) Check the box "run program as administrator"
7) Go to the tab "Shortcut"
8) Click into the text field "target" and go to the last letter of it
9) Add the text " -debug", without the quotes - just a space and -debug
10) The target field should now look like: "YOUR PATH\LIHL SS Tool.exe" -debug
11) Click on Ok
12) Double click the shortcut
13) The tool should now open and - if u made it correctly - show the text "Debug mode is on!" in the event log (among other things)
14) Follow the steps shown in the tool

But notice: when the tool is being run in the debug mode, it will show us every key you have pressed (after clicking the "Send debug mail" button, if you don't press it we won't receive any information) and what happened in the tool internally. This is necessary to track down any problem that might occur and will greatly help me to fix it. But this also means that you should not let the tool unnecessarly run in the background to not give away any information about what you are typing and also to not "spam" me with - for me - irrelevant stuff, it will just make the work harder for me. So if you have to use the debug mode because the normal mode isn't working as it should, then just follow the steps written in the event log. Start the tool, follow the steps, don't press any unnecessary keys, send the mail and close the tool.

For such cases you can just compare the version numbers. Yours is (as far as I remember) 0.6.1, this one now is 1.0 as written in the first post.
And absolutely everyone has to download and test this version (again)

PS: I just found out that the current version doesn't run on 32 bit windows systems (today was the first time that someone has a 32 bit version ). I'm working on a fix but it's a bit complicated.

It seems the more different people use it the more often google blocks the logins to the email account due to security concerns ...
I'll see what I can do to prevent this :/
