a higher elo bot would make for (hopefully) more competitive games. Too often I have pubs who can't ward, gank, or carry a tp.

Im up to have a high elo only games. I understand it wont always fill-up that fast but if the people are willing to wait to have a better quality game then go for it. Test it out and see how it goes. Maybe name the game [ENT] DotA apem us/ca #1 (1200+) or something like that.

What is the monthly cost of hosting such a bot? I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is

Money is usually not the issue. Hosting bots has two bigger issues:
1) split player base
2) filling bnet's list

1) There are tons of low(er) elo players so I doubt it has any effect on normal apem games. And while it is true that it will take a bit longer to fill the 1100-1200-1300 elo games (whatever you guys decide to be the limit), myself and other players would be willing to wait a little bit longer for a game to start in order to have a higher quality game.

2) not entirely sure exactly what you mean, could you explain?

I hate having a team of people who can't play and don't listen just as much as anyone, but this has been tried multiple times in the past and no one plays on it. I suppose we can try it again, it can't hurt, up to administration though.

The issue with noobs isn't that bad though. Sure, you'll get your occasional game where many of your allies are bad, but there should usually be at least 2-3 decent (or at least carriable) players. I also had a game where a 1600 elo Riki lost the game for his team: https://entgaming.net/findstats.php?id=8583762

that looks like a stolen account if I've ever seen one :) 2.8 kdr but if you look at ALL of his games that are showing he is playing no better than a 1 kdr. In not ONE game does he ever come close to his 12+ kills per game

I believe you can "inherit" the ent stats of somebody else if you remake their expired b.net account before their ent stats expire. I think it happened to me before.

How about giving high-elo people access to host high-elo only games? Instead of having the bots automatically host it as regular games? Have the players who wants hosting privileges apply on here in the forums.

That's called private hosting.

Correct. But instead of the game being private, it would be public and it would show under the !g command. The only people who could host it would be the ones who apply on here, or maybe even donate. Just a suggestion to reduce filling bnet list and split player base. What u guys think?

Now that's called an in-house league.

Letting others host it would give them moderator privileges, so no. Buying rights for donations is a no as well and leaving both away and just hosting it is the same as autohosting, so, no, too.

I see. I did not know hosting privileges came with moderator access also.

What I meant was: you can kick and ban as you host the game manually. Unless you use private hosting without ENT tags, then I dont care.
