Vking someone with G-Proxxy?
Re: Vking someone with G-Proxxy?
There is no difference. No matter if someone using Gproxy or not, u can only start a votekick against the player who violate any rule.

g-proxxy usage is allowed in ENT games. The use of g-proxxy cannot constitute a votekick or a ban
Re: Vking someone with G-Proxxy?
He's talking about if someone is lagging and the "Waiting for Players" screen comes up. A normal player would just drop, someone with GProxy++ has a much higher change of staying in the game.
If I'm reading your question correctly, he is asking if it is a bannable offense to vote-drop a user that has a pretty high chance of reconnecting with GProxy++.
I'm torn on this answer, I do not believe it is currently against the rules, but it might be a good suggestion to post in the Suggestions section of the forum if you believe it should be bannable.

I believe that it is currently not a bannable offense but it will have to be situational. Depends on how much time players have waited to initiate the vote kick. I believe that a precedent is being set atm in the ban requests you can find that topic here: https://clanent.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8447
I would, however, appreciate input from other Moderators on this topic.

You can votekick for anything that is ruining game - and lagging can ruin games

Shameless, I feel your pain. I have to use gproxy too, because my connection isn't all that great and I tend to drop/lag at times. Fortunately, I play in LIHL or HR, rarely pubs anymore and the players have a lot more etiquette and manners. They won't drop, unless I completely disconnect and whisper someone to have them all drop me. When I used to play pub, same thing happened to me a few times....it was annoying and a lil frustrating, because the lag is out of our hands. It's not like we are lagging and ruining the game on purpose.
If you are going to allow the vk for someone lagging, I think you should extend that to at least a minute before they can vk, since you guys are promoting gproxy. Food for thought.

Yeah, I ended up submitting the ban, it got shot down. I get the lihl thing hatelose, people say once you play there you never wanna play pub again. However I am still working on my nubness, and also IH leagues are always harder to get games going when you only have a community of 30 or so people. But the good thing is the storms on the east coast went away so really haven't needed the g-proxy again.

Too many people do this, it's annoying to have to wait two minutes for laggers and you might think they're plug pulling or just not coming back. That said, most votekicks don't go through..

Re: Vking someone with G-Proxxy?
I understand. Nbg. I brought a complaint and the community weighed in on it. Np. That's is actually what I like about a clan community and the forums, communal agreements. But maybe someone can help me cause it actually just happened again. And this time I watched the g-proxy at work thinking it was going to help me. It just kept repeating the same four lines-
disc from remote server
attempt to recon
recon to remote server
[tcpsocket] closed by remote host
over and over until I guess my 180 seconds ran out and i got booted. Any have an idea?
Just some back round info, I do not lag all game, this does not happen often, I am usually always fine. It's more like a "lag spike" Is my router doing some sort of witchcraft at 3:30 am or something that I should just avoid playing?

Those lines are the ones repeated when GProxy++ is trying to reconnect I'm pretty sure, it just means it's trying to reconnect you to the server. Sometimes it isn't able to, though most of the time it is, in my experience.
