Many times people get banned when they rage about a game that someone leave than messes the game an get banned because they make the game unbalanced.
What is a balance game to start?
Can someone give me a proper explanation.
Eg. Is a 5v4 a fair game and balanced?
Or look at the attachment a game where from 30 possible points of elo your team get less that 1 elo, is that game balanced?
I would love to hear your opinion, every answer is welcome.
Does Ent really wants balanced games?
Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
Games like that are extremely rare. Most games are in the 10-15 range for ELO, which is fairly balanced. And yes, we want no leavers which is why we ban people for leaving. Anyways, even in that game, there's basically no risk for the Sentinel to play that game. Even if they lose, they don't lose a noticeable amount of ELO - I'd play that, just for the chance of the Scourge getting arrogant and losing.
Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
I don't think ENT really has anything to do with this kind of "unbalanced" game. They give the players the opportunity to !votebalance their games, but if the players don't want to, you can't really blame ENT. Also, I don't think there is such a definition for balanced games as being 15.00/15.00 on ELO, because of all the smurfs accounts.
Personnally, I have played stack games with some of my friends, we were all super high ELO playing against some low ELO players, and it happenned that we lost some of those games, losing 28 or 29 or even more ELO.

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
From my experiences,
Pub games are meant to practice and refine your playstyle of certain heroes. For solo queue, there's a few restriction where you match up with random players or newbies that could makes you go crazy sometimes.
Take my advice; treat solo queue games as a practice game, refine your skill/playstyle/decision making on certain heroes.
Play for your own benefit, and don't let your team drag you down.
If you lose the game, it's okay; just go back and observed what went wrong.
If your teammates is at fault: figure out how to deal with that (with positive attitude)
If you're at fault: Learn from your mistakes.
Once you're satisfied with solo queue, go meet up with people on discord and played as a group.
Experiences from solo queue comes very handy, because you know what you're doing and know how to handle situations.
Dota isn't meant to be balanced (even in teamwork or random solo queue).
Dota is about grabbing that opportunity and turn the table.

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
I believed our current elo system is meant for solo queue.
Unlike Dota Void elo system; it's all about stats + win/lose scenario.
If you're playing as a support, and get a ton of assist; your elo will still increase. Same goes with KDR.
If you're doing bad, but you won the game; you earned a default elo.

Meh high elo players like me skew the game; and smurfs will skew the game too. Just have something like DRB had and you'll be fine.

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
I have high elo and most of the time the medium elo players will dodge when it is close to a 15/15 game. Then after that the only people left are the smurfs and lower elo players that don't care or don't get the system.

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
Elo does not mean anything.
KDR is more accurate, but still alone does not mean much (if you often play support, your KDR can be low even if you are a good player).
It would be a good idea to have auto-balanced games, but the balance algorithm should be complex to implement.

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
We won't autobalance game as autobalance can't provide balanced games (when balancing by Elo). Ent won't implement new technical things anymore.and actually majority of people don't want autobalance as it would be impossible to play with friends

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
Actually, how about we implement a queue system that is similar to Dota Void bot?
They have a queue systems that allowed friends to queue up games and prevent auto-balance command to overwrite a team's queue.
But then again; having friends is more broken and overpowered than "pixel elo stats".

Re: Does Ent really wants balanced games?
Wow, that's the second biggest stack I've ever seen. I've seen 0.5 before though.
I would have totally joined that game on Sentinel if I had seen it. No risk at all to play that, I love those games.
