I'm sorry. You are right, I was in a poor mindset when I read his post, and I didn't react well. I am not exactly the biggest fan of chatspeak, so that was a turnoff, but I also didn't fully read what he said. His message was not belittling to me, but it felt at the time like his perspective on the best player of Legion Mega being only equal to the worst of 1200+ was rude. That is really the only point that I have to stand on, and it's a weak one, so I willingly concede that I misspoke and I am sorry.

As for Tin's comment about my "personal insecurities", I do not think that my attempt to find a mature group of people who don't trash each other (especially team-mates) is unreasonable nor does it indicate I am an insecure person. I in fact do put up with nonsense and play Legion Mega despite not enjoying the usual company. I also find the company to be the least tasteful part of competitive online gaming, which is quite sad. I wish there were more like-minded individuals who want to have fun as a team rather than caring only about their scores.

As for your comment about English elitism, you are correct that I am assuming his first language to be English. This may be inappropriate, but considering he was not mis-spelling words but rather using chatspeak, I feel my assumption was probably correct. I am bi-lingual and do appreciate the steep learning curve of language, also I do not hold the standard which some do that English should be the only language spoken in online games. For the sake of communication and clarity, however, I do think it is the lowest common denominator, as I doubt my offer to speak Italian with him or with you would make our conversation any easier. Also, your getting offended at me is really no different than my getting offended. You are standing up for someone you don't know, other than online, and I was standing up for people I don't know, other than online (which included myself).

Your comment about "avoiding the right people" is a part of Legion TD that I flat do not put up with. The idea that games are won and loss in the lobby disgusts me, because it proves my point that it's about stacking to get to 1200+. You say I just have to avoid the right people, but that either means judging them based on their elo, their win/loss, or playing with every single person until I know them all well enough to know who to avoid. None of those options appeal to me, and I feel justified in calling you out for this suggestion. You are basically telling me that unless I play with a certain sect of other players who have win rates above 50% that I don't deserve to be in the Lihl. If that statement is accurate, count me out. That isn't the kind of Legion I have any interest in playing. I play my best regardless of what team I have, and I play as a TEAM not as just myself and get angry at others for doing things that I wouldn't do. Giving your teammates freedom to make mistakes and learn from them is what I consider to be part of the experience, and if the Lihl disagrees, then I am happy to stay away from you.

As for "thick skin", apparently only the person RECEIVING the advice needs it? That seems a little stupid, to be honest, since the person giving the difficult-to-accept advice should already know they will be pissing the other person off and so should be prepared for a response of similar calibre. If you can't accept that I will criticize your criticism of me then I think I am not the one with the problem. I am also not required to take every piece of advice given to me as true by default, as Legion is a game of reacting to constantly changing variables, so there is no one "right way" to play it. I also highly doubt that you are someone who can just ride the waves of your team "tear your build & game apart to the very detail", as you put it, without at least some frustration. You may have just learned to keep your mouth shut, which is probably a skill I need to learn.

Anyway I will also thank you as I thanked the last guy for your closing remark, though I honestly don't feel it is in keeping with the sentiment of the rest of your message at all, you just put it there to make yourself seem like a nicer guy than you would have without saying it. Empty flattery is empty. My gratitude is also, somewhat empty, but I guess that doesn't seem terribly out-of-place to me.

So, endless messages. These seem to be the only thing I'm capable of writing. I guess I try to respond to everything that has been said, which I don't really have to do, but yeah. If the Lihl was all people like Diablo_, I'd be psyched to work my way there, through the grime and mud of ent18 and ent31, but with the way the rest of you have treated me, the outsider, I think I'll give it a pass. Thank you for your time, but no thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Aight, I just want to apologize one last time for being a jerk - I am quick to misunderstand and blow my emotions out of proportion. What some of you said about me being unprepared for competitive online play is sadly probably true. I want to say that I revoke my previous statement about not wanting to play with any of you, but I still need time to sort out my thoughts and feelings about this conversation and to mature my outlook on communication, criticism, acceptance of others, and other stuff that I guess I'm just too darned sheltered to have thickened my skin yet. I hope that someday I can return to you and properly proceed with this venture, and treat you all with the same respect that I want to receive.

Jesus bro if you spent less time writing trilogy novels and more time practicing some build orders and strategies I'm sure you'd be 1200+ already.

Writing Trilogies puts bread on the table. Even if I was 1200+ ELO I don't think I could receive substantial reimbursement for my troubles, although it is good fun and a guilty pleasure. I think that one of my biggest hurdles is readjusting to the new meta of Legion after my liaison with Dota 2 the past few years, but I'm getting more used to it. The other factor which I think is really relevant when not playing games with my crew is the sheer amount of stacked lobbies. I still refuse the notion that I must lobby-hop to win games. I will continue to be a martyr of the free peoples of ENT18, and hopefully karma will pay me back sometime. :P
