Name: Tom or Baz
Discord name: epicdeath#4703
Age: 19
Game moderator speciality (see below for choices): LIHL
Brief introduction:
Hey guys I'm Tom. I'm a journalism student and I live in Sydney, Australia. I love sailing and racing so I've competed in plenty of national and international events, even going to Europe for a couple of months to compete. I also work around 30 hours a week as a sailing coach at my former high school. When I'm at home I enjoy playing WC3 LTD over really all other games. WC3 was the first video game I bought so I guess I've got a bit of a soft spot. I enjoy the mental aspect of LTD as well as the fact that my skill level isn't capped by having 100-200 ping like it would be in DOTA.
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate):
At the moment I don't have too much time, 2-3 hours a day is pretty much it. I was initially going to wait a while before writing this since my work calms down a lot over Christmas and next year. However it was suggested to me that I should write this now to get the experience as early as possible. When i'm working a bit less I should have more like 4-5 hours playing and more time for moderating after most of lihl goes to sleep.
What is your current time zone: AEDT (GMT+11)
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III:
I've got experience moderating a couple of twitch channels, most notably LF's but that's where my game moderating experience ends. However, I volunteer regularly as a sailing umpire so I have experience both making and explaining my decisions (and being shredded if I cant) as well as an appreciation for the work that volunteers put in just to make events or ongoing leagues run smoothly.
Why do you want to become a game moderator:
As I said above I have a lot of respect for the current mods and anyone that steps up to do any kind of volunteer work. I like the LIHL community, I have some great mates there and the people that I don't know particularly well have been friendly and enjoyable to play with. I reckon I'm in a good position to help out the community and I have no issue with accepting advice and looking at all sides of an argument.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community:
I have the time, inclination, experience and attitude to do this job well. I'll bring a sense of fairness and a transparent, even handed approach to moderation. I have a thick skin for criticism and I have no problems admitting if I make a mistake and working to rectify it.
Closing Statement:
For anyone concerned about my activity in particular it will begin to increase in the next few weeks but keep in mind that LIHL is most active from midnight-6am~ for me, my moderation activity will be much less affected by the timezone differences than my ingame activity.
Cheers

Re: epicdeath @wc3connect
Chilled person and a fair player, kinda prototype of what we need behaviour wise in LIHL.
Timezone difference wont be an issue, since rarely something is so pressing that you cant delay it over 1-2 days.
Hes a rather new member but from what i saw in his introduction i guess he will be a help to the staff. Hes ingame skilled enough to moderate and judge fairly, also doesnt jump to conclusions or gets triggered into fights.
Also i like him on a personal level, but that doesnt matter much here ^^.
I support your application, lets give him a try.

Yeah I had the same concern before I wrote this. I asked the current mods and many of the ex mods also and was generally assured that it wasn't a problem. I think if I keep that fact in mind at least for the first few months it should be alright but your concern is definitely valid.

Friendly, calm and patient guy. One of the few players I’ve never seen triggered or mad. I think Epic would do the job thoroughly and rather well, whilst being fair and objective towards every case.

Awesome first name, have to support of course.
On a more serious note, I think you are fit and up for the task, which is just what we need right now.
Thanks for applying!
