Ban Appeal

Postby Carterman » Tue Sep 11, 2012 10:02 am

Battle.net username:cartermanlcc
Realm:US.East
Gamename:[ENT] Legion TD Mega #92
Bot username:ENT18 I Believe.
Situation:Banned for maphack.
Why you should be unbanned
Well I did not know maphack was such a big deal till I seen all of these ban's on here. I have seen many people boasting how they have maphack and can see what we write and see our units. So I got curious and decided to look up a maphack. Bad judement call there. For that one bad decision I get banned from the bots I love to play on. I have deleted the maphack and any remnants of it. I promise not to do it again as I see now what a big problem it is and how people feel about it. I am really angry about this whole situation. And not at the one who banned me but myself. This is a lesson that I will never forget. I ask to be unbanned, so I may play the games I love to play, on the bots I love to play them on, and with my friends. And I will definately report anyone boasting of maphack on any bot I play on, and I shall never use one again myself. So please unban me, I promise no more trouble from me. And for a character reference, talk to the guy who banned me. :)

Unbanning you would be unfair to other people who got banned for maphacking. However, since this was a custom game and maphacking doesn't really help you in that respect you could ask for a ban reduction, but an immediate unban is a definite no from me.

Well I was not really asking for an immediate unban. Like you said that would be unfair. But in my defense the maphack I had only helped me see what they built. But their was still a fog over them. So almost not a maphack really. Anyways I am done with crap forever.

I know carter and I support his appeal to have his ban removed because he is an excellent player. He doesn't leave games and he has a good behaviour except for the last game : P. I really believe he made a mistake, if he would like to know how mh works he should tell me and I could host a private game to him.

I think he learned his lesson, acknowledged the error and is struggling to improve. Have my support to unban. :P

I agree with DreathKnight. "Trying out maphack" is becoming a common excuse.

I play Legion TD sometimes, and I believe that using a maphack in it doesn't give a SIGNIFICANT advantage, just more of a slight advantage.

I also support the appeal. But word of caution, bring that maphack into DotA and you will be seeing a year ban from me! :D

i don't think any one caught maphacking should get off with a slap on the wrist i think 7-10 days is fair enough

Play some games with me and you'll disagree :P

Not in this case, I know him, he isn't a hacker. We are used to play games together, he could be caught by me, by Raizen, and others SN Members, It's just a question of time. I don't think he is trying a cheap excuse.

I was never trying to use trying out maphack as an excuse. There is no excuse. I just made a bad mistake.

I agree here with at least a 7 to 10 days of banning. Allthough a mistake I still deserve a ban, just a shorter one at least. This is all I am asking of.

It has been 8 days since my ban and 4 days since any post, in my ban appeal. Can I get a heads up on what's going to happen?

Well i think the final decision should be left up to cyb3rpunk since he was the one that banned you in the first place.

You're my friend Carter and I'm sorry, maphack is a serious offense.
I'm going to reduce the time of your ban to three months
