Re: Dota School for short time
As a top level player, I wonder what you think about:
1) Which heroes do you find the most difficult to play well?
2) What are some of the strongest 2 hero combinations?
3) How useful do you find Goblin Techies to be and what role should he play?
4) Radiance. Any general thoughts are welcomed, but specifically, why do pro players rarely favor this item?

Correct answers are:
1. Any support hero without mega nuke for ks, or any initiator
2. Idk i only solo mid get more farm and lvld, sometimes i have little bitch support like sky or dazzle come take care of harassing for me
3. Not useful he takes too much of my farm. Only role really would be to blow up for me to get fb and lay stun wards so i can own all
4. its ez 4 farm double stack ncs lazy ez

Re: Dota School for short time
answer for fun
1) heroes are easy to play if you just spend some time on practice.
2) no such thing as strongest 2 hero combinations, because any 2 hero combination can be strongest vs certain line up but also can get crush vs other line ups. so this answer could be better answer with knowing which enemy heroes 2hero are facing.
3) techies can be good in all pub games or games such as cm can be good only and only good early stage of game!! heroe doesn't scale as game gets longer (overall, can be very fun hero or useless hero).
4) not worth it, need 3800 gold for 1 item can be risky to save up (unless you get freefarming lane for like 13ish mins and hitting every last hits)and radiance in later part of the game isn't as strong as early/mid game.

on what spade was saying. and im no pro but i still wanna input lol.
but saving up 3800 is never something i really go for per say. if i end up saving that much bank or close to it where i feel like i can safely neutral the rest i'll go for it. but really there is pleanty of cheaper more effective items you can get.
as for techies, ive seen some really cool battle tachies in pro games. but really you have to have extensive knowledge of mine locatoins (including stasis) to be effective late game. but most of the time a simple gem renders techie mines useless. but hes still good in team fights when you lay a stasis and land mine in middle of it all. a good euls mine stasis can always help your team.

Radiance is a mistake in em pubs , yes, because 3800 is a lot. It's especially a misttake to rush radiance on a hero such as doom or spec, who greatly need items that give hp and armor early on because if the other team has any sense whatsoever, they will realize u are very farmed/fed and target u first with all they have. I want to cry every time I see a spec get all of the kills early and rush radiance, only to get chopped up in 2 seconds in a cloud of purple black and sparkling gold.
But more importantly, if you are indeed fed enough to ave 3800 early on I would argue that even with a strong base stats/spellls hero like visage or bs, buy some other sick items that dont have the intimidation factor of rad. At least, usually leads to a quick ff when I solo mid bs and ahve rad in 12-15 mins. U want to pwn the maximum amount of noobs possible in t he shortest time while
Re: Dota School for short time
In general, there are only two-three heroes i will buy radiance without other items(except from travels). Necrolyte and Phantom Lancer. Alchemist too if I'm mid with him. On spectre, first i will get vanguard and maybe diffusal, and then radiance.

Re: Dota School for short time
Interesting heroes you listed that you make radiance for. I can at least see part of the logic for choosing those, but not all perhaps. I personally consider radiance a luxury item on necro, I would prefer to go battle fury on alch (sometimes both if my team is full of aoe stuns), and I rarely if ever get it on pl though I love it on tb ironically.
Anyways, my nub ass has been known to get radiance on tons of heroes, but perhaps most often on:
-BS
-Syllabear
-Weaver (I know he's paper and its hard to farm, but I LOVE the synergy with kuchi and I'm pretty good with time lapse)
-TB (easy to get in a reasonable time and after u finish it, farming other tier one-items is a breeze, provided the other team hasn't broken you all yet. split pushing/defending with images can buy much needed time for another carry on your team to get big or even drop raxes in pub games)
-Spectre (I agree, never first. prefer bracers/wraiths to vanguard early but whatever you want and then i would normally go for a diffusal blade next on her. Side note: kinda curious how armlet would be on her, never tried)
- Queen of Pain? (yes! But only if I get off to a really fast start, early mega-kill type sh*t. I'm actually surprised I don't see this more from top tier players in pub games, she is an absolute menace with this item, and your enemies shouldn't even consider solo-pushing when she has it.)
-DK (perhaps mainly because I don't last hit very well. I don't really play him like most people though, usually 1 level of stun and pure stats then around lvl 8-12 I'll start getting my nuke. I want to be able to tank early despite having no items)
-Tree (not very item dependent unless your going the refresher route right? just feel like why not some times? still not great though, not sure why I do it tbh. guess I'm a bit confused as to what his role is these days)
-Riki (just kidding..)
-Necro, Krob, or any tanky intel hero as a 3rd/4th item if the game goes really late.
Keep in mind I'm a pub level player, a capable and experienced one, but still far from great. Many things about the way I play are unorthodox, but it can never hurt to know the "right" way to play in certain situations. Which of these cases I stated make you want to pull your hair out the most and why? Am I ruining some of your favorite heroes lol?

.... what???? weaver is not paper. idk why people think he's so weak...
i always always get abyssal with weaver. why? because it adds a lil hp and massive damage plus the stun that can go through bkb is amazing. and i always average 15-2 with weaver. radiance is ok but if im getting relic im getting abyssal. im the only one i know who gets that. well i'll say i was the first. and linkens is usless. thats like leo taking the aegis. you dont need it because you can almost always ult. unless you get silenced but so what. play right and it shouldnt matter. unless you are versing a doom i would never get linkens.

Re: Dota School for short time
Honestly, the time you'll get your abysal I'll already had radiance and thus will farm faster then you. I'll end with a better mid-game stuff than you. Weaver is KS hero, he doesn't need a stun, get ally with stun.
i.e : You have weaver. Be sure you have mate like EarthShaker/Sven/Cent/Mag/Nigma/Lion/Nerub.. wait, want me to name all disable/stun hero? There's so much... For the little addition in damage / hp for the price. It doesn't worth it, why? Your farm isn't that much 'faster'. Rad, make it pretty fastier. Hence the reason to get it on weaver.

Re: Dota School for short time
meh, weaver farms easy with germinate. if you need radiance to farm then maybe you should work on something else other than your item build. the stun you get with abyssal is just an awesome bonus but i dont get it just for that. also you get chance to bash. and great damage. plus you can get basher first which is good damage and allows you to get more kills early game.

Re: Dota School for short time
Disclaimers : Late in night, typed it fast. Thanks for my poor.. but poor you know.. Fuck it ...
Basher total price is almost 3 k. getting 800 more for 60 dmg... Not a big deal. The 'stun' chance is nothing = 10%... This item doesn't belong on my weaver.
I never said that I had problem with farm. Said it is FASTER thus you get more gold and more item quicker, your weaver get bigger faster. Also, in team fight, you'll doing more dmg to all your opponents than with a basher wich is useless cause you have team mate in plus to make 'bash/stun'. If you play 1v1 maybe?... I rather sheepstick with weaver than basher... If you're looking for a disable, go for this....
Rather go on weaver : Rad/Fly/Crit/Heart/BKB Or Rapier /Tread than getting off one of these for a basher. This is 'average' build. People can go full dmg instead of heart etc.
I'm not telling your build isn't good, but if you face a decent player, even if you have a stun, if he got one, you're fucked too.. Also the cd on stun is one min if I'm not wrong... That's to big... Rather get Rad/demon edge... Dmg + Dmg per second kill more. Swarm him = dmg per sec/armor reduce + rad effect+sucuchi = 300-400 dmg just running around him with swarm and invis for what, 2-3 second...
In number, if you run around him for 3 second = 150dmg from rad~ + lvl4invis 150dmg~ + swarm dmg30 per hit + reduction of armor... Total of 300-400 dmg ez and all that, without making yourself visible (so the ennemies don't hit you at all while doing these dmg.) Swarm give you vision, so you won't lose his track to kill. Hit him safely and stay in aoe to let him get even more dmg from that radiance.
You know, I don't base my killing on 'luck' to have a bash, but on the amount of heavy dmg I can do without being hit. ... But, you know, that's my opinion ^^
In conclusion, I feel that radiance cost less, help more on farm, do (let's be nice) same amount of dmg of abysal(stun for burn effect). The only thing it doesn't add is the lil hp... But the cost is way to different for this such low addition. Also it is strengh add, not hp. For the same price you have more HP with a vitality booster --> Heart. So with a Booster/Rad
5150 price of rad versus 6750 abysal. 6250 price of rad and booster. I can get a boot in + and I have three item for the price of one... Ok, now you'll tell me the strengh it add is good? Let's see.
Weaver stats :
Strength
15 + 1.5 -----> Every strengh + in stats will give to nerub : +19 hp. Abysall give 10 so + 190 hp. Booster give? = 250.
Agility
14 + 2.5
Intelligence
15 + 1.8
In the end, it's 60 dmg per hit versus 100 = 40 difference balanced with a 50 dmg from burn. Both item do same amount of dmg (range of weaver is lower than range of burn effect, hence it do 50 dmg per sec anytime you're 'punching' an opponent. So the dmg is kinda the same. I'll not lie to you, when they have BKB, the stun of abysal work ? I'm not sure, if it does, it is the only advantage I see hence raidance doesn't go through bkb being magical dmg. (You have your opinion and mine, you can play with that build and be godly as me having rad and pwn).
Love to debate a bit
