Frankshotsauce@USEast

Postby frankshotsauce » Fri Oct 25, 2013 1:46 am

Name:Frank

Age:33

Game moderator specialty (see below for choices):NVB

Brief introduction:Well where to start. Been playing WC3 for idk how long, since it first came out. Spent most of my time playing ID, SW, Foots etc. Spent the better part of 3 years playing NVB in between deployments. Been shammys in multiple clans, been peons and grunts too. I'm level headed and reasonable, just don't mistake my kindness for weakness. My old boot instructor used to say that :P Well I guess that brief enough!!

What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)?I work until 430-5PM CST, and usually spend weekdays playing until around 7-8, sometimes midnight if the missus is out with the girls.

What is your current time zone?US CST

Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III:Well I mentioned it briefly in the brief intro, but shammys for multiple clans. I have been a moderator for 2 NVb clan/general websites. The current one which is still up and which people check in on. I was in the military for 6 years and know the how to manage not only people but time as well. In Warcraft3, while MissingPeasants (Iron's one) was up, my friend Jake and I raced to 4k NVB games. He won, but still I have played a lot of NVB and WC3 in general. Dating back to ID when Gwypaas was updating, b4 demo, NWU(some in the early, more recent), Burb TD, Enfo, Foots, etc...

Why do you want to become a game moderator?Well since NVB is being autohosted now, thank you thank you thank you. I should volunteer myself to moderate any sort of complaint or ban that comes in as it was my idea to push for the auto hosting. Did I mention thank you?

What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community?Well I manage my time quite well, so I am always checking in on here, and other pages as well. I will bring harsh and unjustful punishments to those who disobey, stack teams, ban cause i can. Naw I will just moderate the NVB side of things and help wherever it is needed. I have seen every continent but Antarctica and been to more countries than I can remember, so I guess stories, life lessons, whatevs.

Closing Statement:So in a nutshell, I don't want to burden anyone with handling the NVB side of things, should it get bigger or even fail. I will act responsible and fairly to everyone and give every person a shot at redemption/proving themselves. I'm here to help. Period. GYSOT!! (Fast n Loud)

-Frank

Which specific game(s) do you have lots of experience with and will be helping to moderate?

I support this application because Franky is one of the nicest guy on Battle.net. To be honest I don't think I ever saw him rage or flame someone at all. The only problem I see is that NVB doesn't have a huge player base yet and in 4 days there has been less than 20 games hosted (so far). Also since NVB is pretty much like NWU and we already have a good number of mods who could take care of ban requests for that game.

But like I said Franky is really a nice guy and he would be a nice addition to the staff.

So far, he has not done any forum work i.e requests or anything like that, therefore I am against this application for the time being.

Overall, his politeness and etiquette is what we want on the forum as well. That will probably reach one half of the requirements for me since he literally is one of the nicest and courteous players I have ever seen especially in NWU. He is probably more levelheaded than I or Around for that matter. He never breaks. With age comes wisdom. There is no limit to Game Mods. It will take a week before Agreements finally posts his decision on here but meanwhile...

@Frankshotsauce

My advice to you is to do some NWU, NVB, ID or DotA requests and you will have my full support, including Yondaimes. You need to show more activity on the forum. I'd also use this week to find requests and make reports to familiarize yourself with this. Perhaps maybe assist some of the Mods work in request section as well by providing screenshots for reported maphack or ban-dodging?

Yeah I knew that I wouldn't meet some of the requirements as far as active posting on bans, ban requests and what not. I will make it a point to be more active in that area and become more familiar with the DoTA side of things as that is where I am truly lacking. I should probably re apply after a month or so after I meet those req's. and yes I'm an old timer :p but since when is 33 old?? 30's are an age where you have what you need in life already, relationship, kids, house, vehicles, etc and it allows me the ability to do what I want when I want as well! You guys will like it when you get here!!

@Frankshotsauce

Well... you don't have to apply in a months time. Just make those requests, help out in the request section and be more active forum-wise after today. Once you show that by the end of the week that you have done so, you'll have a positive, shining review.

To be honest, I do not even know nor did I see you around. You should really become more active in the important sections and join the web chat.

Can do, but it will have to be after the weekend!

Sure thing! I will make it a point to be more active on the chat, but as to the important sections, are you referring to ban requests and such. If so I will make that a point starting on Monday after I am done with work. Thanks for the input everyone.

Kresh, your posts are not helpful and are just spam.

On topic now, I would like to see more activity from you, also though I am pretty sure that it does not really require in game moderation that much, and if someone posts a request I am sure Masamune, or World could easily handle it. If you know how to do other games. I.E Dota, that also would be good. More activity though is what I am looking for.

If Masa and world are going to handle them, and they ban requests won't be a burden, then you guys don't need another moderator IMO. You may as well archive this! Should anything happen and you need me to get up to speed, just let me know. I'm always around!

Look man I'm sorry we can't accept you at the moment. Take this as a breath of fresh air. Do some appeals, show us how you judge things, do some ban requests as well. What we look for in a new staff member is how they judge games because in truth we are giving them a lot of authority over games. Remember this saying, trust is easy to break but takes time to earn.

We emphasize the judging aspect because in truth that is what a game moderator is, a game judge. I would recommend taking some time to show us how you assess situations and then compile all of what you do during that time into your next application. I like your attitude and I would like to see it stay that way, you show a lot of promise and I hope to see you apply again.
