In 1v1 games, if one player leaves (no matter if its round 1 or 31) the one who remains is not considered the winner and gets 0 elo. Leaver will get 0 elo too, so if he feels like losing he can simply walk away and keep his score.
I think the rules about leaving should be more strict when it comes to 1v1 games.
