!latency not working?
Does the command !latency not work anymore? Recently when I type the command it doesn't do anything.
Re: !latency not working?
why cant we change latency? It is one of the most important things for many games. The reason why alot of people i know cant play certain games on ent is because we cant change the latency. Maps like HHF, impossible bosses, 101 rounds and all those maps that require micro and dodge skills become almost unplayable if the latency isnt set to 20-50.
Also !synclimit and !latency commands save so many people from lagging out when I play on Makemehost.
Is it possible for ent to have !Latency and !synclimit commands?

Re: !latency not working?
People lag out even easier with !synclimit, you do not even know what the command does. It just has the effect that you dont SEE someone lagging, and if someone lags the game will keep running and he will have like minute(s) in super-speed to catch up when he stops lagging.
And !latency wont give euros a good ping on USA bots and vice versa nor will it improve the ping of people playing on bots in their own region very much.

Re: !latency not working?
I do understand what synclimit is but I dont mind if its not there. But no !Latency is a killer.
!latency is one of the most used commands on nearly every single host bot out there, so why not ent?
The problem is that the default latency is huuuge delay, way too much for some of the most popular quick reflex games like elim tornament.
TBh the only reason why many people dont want to play games with me on ent is because theres no !latency option and they always say that theres too much default delay.
@Metall-Drago Haven't you ever played on make me host? or a personal bot? !latency makes a HUMungo difference in delay.
Even when playing with people that have 120+ ping. Lowering the global latency to 40 or so gives them much much less delay that its night and day.
If you havent noticed !latency is one of the most needed and used commands on every single bot, is it possible for ent to have the !latency command as well this would be pretty awesome.

Because if we gave the ability for all users to change the latency there would be a lot of abuse and it would result in a lot of games going haywire.
Also you're assumptions about the latency command is very "closed minded". To say the least, when players claim they have a much better experience, it's just the mere result of a placebo effect. It does vary depending on your location. For example, if you've got low ping, then lowering the latency would obviously help but for players with higher ping, they would feel much more.
Re: !latency not working?
@Agreements Its a trade off you see. If a person has 150+ ping any competitive game would be pretty much unplayable, yet if you set the global Latency to 50 the person with 150+ ping would be playing with 50, which drastically reduces the delay making the game completely playable, the side effect of this is that he might get a frame drop every 5- 10 secconds but that is an extremely small price to pay considering you couldn't even play the game with much joy at your previous 150 ping delay. You should really test this out yourself to see the ridiculous difference in delay.
Latency is strictly the delay that players receive. If the latency is set to a high amount you will experience more delay making many games unplayable. If the latency is set to a lower amount players receive less delay. There are two types of things players consider as "lag" which are completely different, Delay and spike. Spike comes in when the delay is set too low and your ping cannot handle it so it has to constantly hop to catch back up. However the default Latency of 100 is in almost all cases much too high unless there is literally some in your party with 250+ ping. Lowering the latency will always lower the delay, because the default latency set of 100 can literally support players with 250 ping which puts a massive hindrance on all of the players with 60 and below ping.
@DreathKnight Nearly everyone that uses Bnet already fully knows very well what latency does because every single bot in existence has the latency command. If what you were claiming were the case, the most popular custom host bot "make me host" would be all in chaos and that is certainly not the case.
If you don't understand what the global latency is, lets say you are playing with 20 ping on ENT. You wont actually have 20 ping, you would be stuck with the massive global latency 100. Which is fine for orpgs and non competitave games but you really feel its affects when you are playing a more hardcore game and it makes it unplayable for everyone.

Re: !latency not working?
You dont get it, do you? Even with latency command it wont do a SHIT because its based on location of server and the people playing on it. But ty for teaching us with your vast knowledge..
Also, did you even consider what will happen when the command is given to the public? everyone spamming !latency for w.e reasons and placebo effect which wont help anyone.
Either play on bots at your own region, so USA in your case, or deal with a higher ping.
Also having more than 100-130ms on bots in a different region (e.g europe region for you) is your net being bad then.
Ent and MMH both have hostbots for private hosting in both locations. And about autohostbots, be happy with what you got FOR FREE.

Re: !latency not working?
@metall-Drago what you are saying does not make much sense. Every single bot out their has a working !latency command, since when has it ever been abused and an even better question.. how in the world can it even be abused? Most bots have a 20 latency minimum and a 250 maximum so it can never lag a game out even if you miss typed the command.
Try some Make me host games or Dota cash games or previously blink gaming games. If what you are claiming is true all the games going on their should be in haywire. And that is obviously not the case.
Also in reply to your seccond topic. I do not think you are understanding what Global latency is. Look in my previous post as I have explained it.
Even if players play on a ENT bot in THEIR region with only 15 Ping they will STILL recive the massive Globally set Latency of 100 as that is the default set for ent bots. So it does not matter if you have a whopping 1 Ping to a specifc ENT bot, becuase you will still have to play on the massive global 100 Latency which equates to 100 ping.
So it doesnt matter if you have a godly impossible 1 ping connection to all of ent bots, because you will still be forced to play with a 100 Ping delay.

Re: !latency not working?
Ok, you do not want to get it.
a) There will never be commands that affect all players given to the public for obv reasons. (the one which needs a VOTE is already abused like hell)
b) I have no problems on bots in own region even on ent without changing latency its perfectly fine. Maybe fix ur net then.
c) !latency is not a wonder function, you are exaggerating the commands effect. If you lower it for urself then others from different region might struggle. And its better to have some people more delay than some people spiking hard bcuz latency is set too low. About MMH, idk if you can do it there as host, but if not there is a valid reason for it.

Re: !latency not working?
While we're on this subject, I seriously hope that !ping isn't available for public host bots.
In my opinion, any commands relating to ping shouldn't be available to the public, whether they're the owner of a public bot or not.
