Question

Postby RESTLESS » Mon Dec 02, 2013 3:29 am

I just recently came back and am curious if a couple of my friends have still been playing and was wondering if one of you mods would be so kind as to use the alias checker you took away from the public to see if my friend is still active on the ent bots and which account(s) he may be playing on.

If that would be possible please pm me

We don't give out that information. You can ask your friend.

Yea rofl I will just ask him even though I have no way to get into touch with him thanks haha alias used to be public but you guys need to make it private so you could continue the habit of sweeping mod mess ups under the rug when they decided to troll their own community. I don't see what the big deal is. anyways thanks again

EDIT: INSERT UAKF.B DICTATOR/THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRACY COMMENT HERE BELOW

The alias finder was disabled because it made it a lot easier for ban dodgers to succeed
- when that's said I'm sure you'll find a new friend.. at least after going through a minor attitude change

You became a moderator not very long ago (in october) and have no idea what I speak of when I mention this. It has been suggested by mod's more than once to privatize it when problems arise among their peers. I fail to see how alias would help ban dodgers dodge bans more easily if people are going to change their ip their is nothing clan ent can really do about it.

In general the alias checker used to help to enhance the gaming experienced offered by ENT by allowing players to reconnect with old friends they may otherwise have no way of finding. This in turn ups the amount of people playing ent because people obviously want to play with old friends and reconnecting is great. All in all I don't need an attitude adjustment you mods just need to get real with your snide and ignorant comments. "just go talk to your friend"

EDIT: I would have posted my thread where Kaisereo intentionally threw a game and I used the alias checker to catch him and he was banned but it seems the archived BRQ must have been swept under the rug.

As you might could've guessed it requires some activity on the forum before you can be considered as a moderator.
You joined this forum 2½ months before me - But some would question that you had just close to a quarter of the activity here.

As for the moment there are several reasons why the alias checker isn't available for public use - the main reason I've already mentioned above.
Also many people prefer to be able to play under aka's to have their privacy.
- Your wish to have the alias checker opened up for public is legit - but post under suggestions.
- Your attitude you can take somewhere else.. as for now respect the fact that ent is a gaming community and not some dating service to find old flirts.

We aren't here to be at your beckon call. Be more active. The tool is not here for us mods to search out people's friends. It's used to catch ban dodgers, repeat offenders, etc. We mods are treated like crap from the community at times, so in response from crapping replies, we become irritated.

If you want our help, as Iznogood stated, attitude adjustment. We give short, straight to the point answers. If you don't like it, tough.

It kind of matters how "old" your friend is as well. The alias tool doesn't keep permanent records, if an "old" friend hasn't played under the name you are looking for in a few months, you wouldn't be able to find him using the tool anyways.

1.Regardless of your activity it doesn't matter I would bet even though I have much less posts and have taken a 2 month break from dota I have spent much more time reading around the forums than you.

2. A suggestion would most likely only cause mods like yourself to whine and cry about ban dodgers which you guys claim have an easier time due to the alias checker. In general this doesn't make sense. The only time in the past I have read about the alias checker being made privatized is because people use it then complain x person has a better account and sucked and therefore was game ruining. Also it helps mods to troll their own community without the public being able to catch them as I previously stated.

3. LOL dating service? You obviously don't have in game friends that you have maintained and played with over a long period time as I can tell due to your false superiority that you continue to attempt to push on me due to your moderator position. You sir are not taking into the consideration of the gaming community but just your own personal opinion.

AS FOR MATDAS

Mods like you are a serious problem for the dota community that ent provides with things like your wild goose chase particularly against flowersnow. Flowersnow was a very skilled dota player which held the top spot for a very long time. Your attack and erasing of his stats was a rather sad a pathetic move. He got smurfed, alot of ppl smurfed and their was never any rules against what he had done making your erasing of his stats and possible banning complete bullshit.
ALSO MATDAS you probably wouldn't know this but the alias checker was public for a very long time until problems arose as i stated above and again ENLIGHTEN ME HOW THE ALIAS CHECKER IS GOING TO HELP YOU FIND PEOPLE CHANGING THEIR IP? ent can not do shit about this.....

ANYWAYS I WAS ABLE TO RECEIVE HELP AND FIND MY FRIEND THANKS TO UNKNOWN THE ALIAS CHECKER IS SUCH A GREAT TOOL IN FINDING LONG LOST FRIEND.

List of Mods I would Like to thank for in my opinion always being objective and not letting bullshit get in the way:

Uakf.b (You always have been good to me when I create a post even though you were rude to me on this occasion)

Palsgraf (good at brq and objectivity this fucking lawyer guy)

Mogul (good at brq)

VirusHunter (good at brq)

Teller55(Always very reasonable even when things get tense thank you for your post and the alias finder did find him)

Karasu ( Always put in a lot of effort)

Burritocarcass(very knowledgeable in brq section)

Child (Puts the ENT community first)

Edgeofchaos(very speedy and objective)

I have a lot of respect for MODS and what they do for this community. I have been playing on ENT bots now for about 3 years and have always enjoyed it. I have always shown respect for MODS when they show respect for me. All in all I am done here I found my friend thanks to the alias checker and am greatly appreciative. As for the ENT admins keep iznogood and matdas on a leash before they kill wc3 faster than its already dying.(You should kick out more mods after probation rather than keeping every single one.

ALso I just want to thank you guys for being dicks and making it so hard for me to find my one loner friend that the alias checker found for me.

I think this is better suited for your blog.
