The inhouses could be an option, if only they weren't at the same level as the pubs, if not worse.
I wish you luck with finding someone who are willing to discuss this issue on a serious manner, there seem to have been none so far!

Worth discussing, yes. The topic is among other things about good players flaming and degrading other (weaker) players. And here we have a “stronk” input. ;)
I see, your plan was not to talk about the problem (and give suggestions) but to show it by being a bad example ;) I am positive your next post is gointg to be very constructive. maybe you tell us how you handle this (no provocation ofc.)

ps: an* interesting

I was merely supporting the topic-starter, stating only what seems to be the fact ( confirmed by yourself :D)

If I hurt your feelings in any way, I am genuinely sorry.

Nah, you did not. But thx.
How do they say… a problem well defined is a problem half-solved? I am not sure which of the topic starter’s point of criticism you are referring to (the facts that I confirmed), but I plead guilty to almost all of them (save the “pro” part and the stacking)
Every now and then I catch myself flaming. To avoid this I try to imagine that the player is a kid who had just a bad day in school and tries to relax a bit. It helps, but I do this mostly afterwards  (and feel like a bully then.)
....

Since we all agree that the topic is worth discussing, we could also try to find the root of the problem. (Why do we flame, what bothers us the most… etc )
The only thing that comes to my mind is “communication”. The things that we say and the way we do it is more important than we might think. And flaming doesn’t have to be always a bad thing. Weeks ago I was called an idiot when I warded the top rune for not warding “behind the tree to get a wider vision”. I was told what was wrong and what I could have done better to what purpose. The “idiot” was an ok price for my improved knowledge.

Here are some tips our teams in the last few games would have needed.

-try not to flame or at least substitute your “moron, go uninstall and kill yourself” with e.g. “moron, next time use your euls to interrupt cm’s ult”
-if you see beginners on your team, try to communicate certain stuff like what heroes you all should go (to avoid riki, PL, Lanaya after one picked Mirana) and what items they should buy.
-beginners should not hesitate to ask if they do not know something (or better read guides since it is not their team mate’s job to teach them these basics)
-if there are 2 heroes who usually go a certain item whose e.g. aura
doesn’t stack if bought twice in a team, make sure to communicate this beforehand (who wants to build what).
-it’s always easier with some kind of a leader. If a decent player tells the team to push all together or gank, do so or tell them to wait until you shop, finish your item or w/e.

common sense, I know. But its sadly still a problem.

What spawns the flamer in you, ppl :P ?

The fact that the forum is so inactive compared to the amount of players that plays on Ent bot is part of the problem. It's hard to reach out to newbies during a game for various reasons, but a forum is the perfect class to discuss strategies and help weaker/newer players. However, the strategy section is empty. In fact, I'm planning on making some threads in the near future in the strategy section and invite all other good players to do the same. Ent admins should try to find a way to encourage players to visit the forum more often.

Agreed, a much more active forum in relation to this game would increase the longevity in terms of quality of this game at Ent. Strategy section is there; empty and lacks much more creativity to it as well.

A subsections like "DotA chat"(where anyone should be welcomed to post anything related to the topic, "Mechanisms"(strats/builds regarding to Heros), and maybe "Patience is the key"(where pro/good people discuss how/what they do in order to get there and maybe give a tip or two for new players) should be added, maybe that will get some people started which can only encourage more and more people to come and talk and discuss certain issues. @Dust Maybe this will give you certain ideas since you want to start new threads, rather I suggest add subsections like these after discussing with a forum admin.

Want specific things done forum or in game announcement related? Just post a list here or pm me and ill do my best. Or post under suggestions, although that forum can be overly critical and IMO fairly unproductive. Anyone who knows me knows that I am never or very rarely even remotely rude to noobs in game and i often try to help them and i am all for having a more involved forum community. i know dotacash is a joke now, but back when i was a nooby like 7-8 years ago the DC forum and talking with players is where i learned most of what i know now.
As to the dicussion of etiquette in game by both noobs and skilled players I would say that, if you disregard the 5-10 % of the dota population who throw games or rage excessively or break rules on a consistent basis, there are many more bad mannered "skilled" players percentage wise than actual regular noobs. I agree 100% with dust that we all need to find ways of encouraging a more active forum community, even if that simply means informing people that the website exists or just posting a great game you had or a guide to your favorite hero with explanations of build / match ups. Don't be afraid that your build is wrong or play is bad, I highly doubt anything other than learning would result from a less than perfect guide or replay.
Ultimately I wish I could spend more time doing such things, and I used to do more in terms of suggestions for improving the community, but my time on here is mostly limited to appeals and ban requests as I take sometimes 4-6 hours a day doing these activities along with trying to stop dodgers.

Anyways merry Christmas! Wish I could play today but I'm on vacation, again any easy or great suggestions just continue posting or I'm always available to discuss such things.

About the manners/flaming:
The more anonymity you give people the worse they will act since they are not held accountable for the things they say. If instead of "I-N-S-A-N-E" the top of my hero said "John Doe 555-555-1234" (my real name and #) I'd probably be less likely to call you a cocksucker and heave insults at you for stealing my illusion rune that I wanted to bottle but really didn't even need... Unfortunately, in this game, there are even 2 levels of anonymity. Not only do I not get your name and phone # to show up at your house Jay and Silent Bob style to whoop your douchey little ass, but you can even change your account name so I don't even know when I'm dealing with you, Sir AssDouche.
This alone is the core of the "problem", but it ain't gonna change because that's just how wc3 is. So, find your own way to cope and make the best of it. Two choices really.. Wanna join 'em and flame to your heart's desire? Go for it (hopefully at least try to add something constructive in the process like a previous poster eluded to and don't disrupt the game too much). Or, do as I (try to as much as possible) do. Hold yourself accountable for the things you say and do just because its the natural, stress-free, more fun way to live your life. Don't be a dick just because you can or as some sort of outlet for frustration. And on the other side, don't let those doing that bother you either. You can't escape them in the long run, there will always be more. When all attempts at civility fail be sure to make use of my favorite feature - the trusty !ignore Cockface command, it won't let you down ; )
